The Vancouver Canadians
The Vancouver Canadians are one of Metro Vancouver’s main professional sports teams with the others being the Vancouver Canucks for hockey, Vancouver Whitecaps for soccer, and BC Lions for football.
Affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays and part of the High-A West league, the Vancouver Canadians play other baseball teams from Washington and Oregon.
The six teams in the league were formerly part of the Northwest League along with a couple others, however the league was replaced in 2021 by High-A West as part of the MLB reorganizing how it structures the minor leagues. There are also High-A Central and East leagues, both of which have twelve teams. Two of the franchises of the old NWL were not offered places in the new High-A West League, making it the smallest one.

Vancouver Baseball Venue
Vancouver Canadians home games are at the Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium which is located at 4601 Ontario Street. Nat Bailey Stadium is also the venue for the Riley Park Winter Farmers Market (which runs from November until April) and is next door to Queen Elizabeth Park.
High-A West Season Schedule
The regular season for the High-A West League and the Vancouver Canadians typically runs from June until September. Unfortunately, the 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID-19. The 2021 season was modified and took place from May to September, but no games were held in Vancouver. The 2022 season took place in a style closer to pre-pandemic times and the 2023 season runs from April until September.

In 2021, the first season of the new High-A West league, the Canadians finished 5th with a record of 55-64 and missed the playoffs. In 2022, the team finished with a 67-62 record but lost the Northwest League Championship Series to the Eugene Emeralds.
