Ambleside Artisan Farmers Market

The Ambleside Artisan Farmers Market takes place at Ambleside Park at the foot of 13th Street in West Vancouver between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm from the beginning of May until late October.

The market’s venue is just a block from the water, beautiful Ambleside Park and stunning views of the entrance to Burrard Inlet and Stanley Park across the inlet.

In 2024 the market runs from May 5th until October 27th.

While in the area … definitely check out the waterfront and seawall at Ambleside, but also consider combining your trip with other fantastic West Van parks, like Lighthouse Park or Whytecliff.

Brentwood Artisan Farmers Market

The Brentwood Artisan Farmers Market is a new market making its debut in 2024. It replaces the Lonsdale Artisan Farmers Market which ran in North Vancouver until 2023. The new market takes place on Sundays at The Amazing Brentwood Mall in Burnaby.

The market runs from June 2nd to September 29th in 2024.

Clayton Community Farmers Market

The Clayton Community Farmers Market, despite its name, is more like an artisanal market than a farmers market. There’s a wide variety of different products on offer from food to plants to pet supplies to different crafts.

The market runs bi-weekly from May to October, more or less every other Sunday. It’s located in the parking lot of the Clayton Community Centre in Surrey and is open from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

In normal years there can be up to around 100 vendors at the market. In 2024 the Clayton Community Farmers Market runs on select Sundays from May to October on the following dates:

  • May 5th and 26th
  • June 2nd and 23rd
  • July 7th and 21st
  • August 11th and 25th
  • September 8th and 22nd
  • October 6th

Cloverdale Flea Market

The Cloverdale Market is a flea market and not actually a farmers market. A small percentage of its vendors though do sell fruits, vegetables, flowers, homemade goods and artisan products, which is why we include it in this list.

Given that the Cloverdale event features over 200 stalls, even though the majority of vendors are selling second-hand goods, there are often more farmers market-style vendors here than at some of the Lower Mainland’s smaller and even medium-sized farmers markets.

The Cloverdale Flea Market usually runs year-round from 6 am until 3 pm on Sundays. It takes place at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds and admission is $1.50 for folk ages 13+.

Click Cloverdale Flea Market for details.

Coquitlam Farmers Market

The Coquitlam Farmers Market, officially called the Poirier Street Farmers Market, operates from 9 am to 1 pm between early May and the end of October at 624 Poirier Street in Coquitlam.

The Coquitlam market is a large one with usually more than 60 vendors. The market opened on May 7th in 2023 and will likely run until October 29th.

Click Poirier Street Farmers Market for more details.

Hastings Park Farmers Market (Winter)

The Hastings Park Farmers Market runs from 10 am to 2 pm at Hastings Skatepark by the PNE (at Renfrew Street and Pandora, just a couple of blocks from Hastings Street) from early November until the first day or so of May. Free parking is usually available at the Gate 2 entrance for market shoppers.

The most recent season ran from November 6th until April 30th. Dates in future years will likely be similar.

Kitsilano Farmers Market

The Kitsilano Farmers Market runs on Sundays from the middle of May until mid to late October from 10 to 2 pm at 2690 Larch Street in Vancouver. It’s a fairly large market, with up to about 50 vendors on busy weeks.

In 2023 the dates for the Kitsilano Farmers Market are between May 7th and October 29th.

While in the area … consider visiting other attractions in the Kitsilano and Point Grey neighbourhood, including any of the beautiful beaches like Kitsilano, Jericho, Locarno, or Spanish Banks.

Ladner Village Market

Taking place on the second and fourth Sundays of the month between mid-June and mid-September on the three block stretch of 48th Avenue between Delta Street and Elliott Street, the Ladner Village Market is one of Western Canada’s largest farmers markets, and one of our favourites.

From 10 am to 4 pm each time as many as 150 vendors sell everything from fresh produce to baked goods to all kinds of handcrafted art. If you’re looking for an amazingly massive farmers market, this is where you’ll find it. Many consider it the best.

Market dates in 2023 are June 11th and 25th, July 9th and 23rd, August 13th and 27th, and September 10th.

While in the area …, if the weather is good, consider visiting the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta on Westham Island just west of Ladner.

Mount Pleasant Farmers Market

Between mid-June and early-October the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market takes place from 10 am until 2 pm at 2300 Guelph Street in Vancouver. It usually has more than two dozen vendors.

In 2023 the market’s season runs from May 21st to October 29th.

Nikkei Garden Farmers Market

The Nikkei Garden Farmers Market is a Japanese-themed market in Burnaby. It takes place outside the Nikkei Centre and includes artisanal products and produce. There’s also a selection of Japanese food to browse and purchase.

The market happens on Sundays between June and October. However, it doesn’t run every Sunday. The Nikkei Garden Farmers Market only takes place on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Hours are from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm each day.

Steveston Village Farmers Market

The Steveston Farmers and Artisan Market usually takes place every second Sunday from May until early fall in Richmond’s Steveston Village in the parking lot of the Steveston Community Centre at 4111 Moncton Street from 10:30 am until 3:30 pm.

Market days in 2023 are May 7th and 21st, June 4th and 18th, July 16th and 30th, August 6th and 20th, and September 3rd and 17th.

While in the area … definitely explore Steveston Village and go for a walk along the waterfront, but also consider taking your bike for a cycle along the dykes. For a bit of history, check out the Gulf of Georgia Cannery in town, or Britannia Heritage Shipyard a pleasant walk down the way.

White Rock Farmers Market

The White Rock Farmers Market takes place every Sunday at 15154 Russell Avenue from late April until late October in White Rock. Market times run from 10 am until 2 pm.

In 2023 the market runs from April 23rd until October 15th.

While in the area … stroll along the waterfront at White Rock and check out the beach, especially if it’s at low tide. Also, just a short drive away, there is Crescent Beach, plus historic Stewart Farm in Elgin Heritage Park along the way.

Market Day at Whistler
Whistler Farmers Market

Whistler Farmers Market

The Whistler Farmers Market usually takes place in Whistler’s Upper Village on Sundays between 11 am and 4 pm between late May and early October. In 2023 the market runs from May 21st until October 8th. There are also Saturday markets on July 1st, August 5th, September 2nd and October 7th.

While in the area … explore Whistler, obviously. Walk around the village, take a gondola up the hill or go for a drive to Alta Lake.

Click Whistler Farmers Market for further details.

Richmond Night Market

In addition to the above farmers markets, the Richmond Night Market also takes place on Sunday evenings in the summer (as well as on Fridays and Saturdays). The 2023 market runs from April 28th until October 9th.

Richmond’s Asian-themed market isn’t a farmers market with local farmers and piles of farm fresh produce, but it is still very interesting and well worth checking out. Thousands of people every weekend do!
