For some people this place is just a giant emporium of junk. For others though, it’s a second-hand shopper’s paradise! Picture a shopping mall of garage sales and that’s what you’ll find. The Vancouver Flea Market isn’t a fancy venue. It is, however, a fabulous and very interesting place for bargains!

The Vancouver Flea Market is a great place to find deals, especially on second-hand items. A super place to find deals at restaurants and attractions, however, is through Entertainment Coupons. About the Vancouver Flea Market
The Vancouver Flea Market, also referred to by its many patrons as “the big red barn,” has been running since 1983. Today the venue hosts flea markets and other special events most Saturdays and Sundays of the year. With just under 40,000 square feet of space, at least 360 vendors in one place and 4,000 shoppers visiting each weekend, it’s the biggest indoor market of its kind in the region.
Location, Times and Admission
Located at 703 Terminal Avenue, the Vancouver Flea Market has everything from clothes to electronics, art, jewellery, toys, sports equipment, fine china, music and vintage everything. The venue is just a few blocks from Science World and the Science World-Main Street SkyTrain Station.
For more than two decades, the Vancouver Flea Market has also hosted antique and collectable shows.
The place is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am until around 5:00 pm, and most holiday Mondays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission on regular days is just a couple of bucks. For special events, it’s usually around $4.
Parking isn’t great, so if you don’t find any available spaces right outside you might have to park a few blocks away and then walk back.
What’s Near the Flea Market?
Places of interest not far from the Vancouver Flea Market include the False Creek seawall, (a great place for walking and cycling), Science World, and the Olympic Athletes Village. On Thursdays in the summer, the False Creek Farmers Market takes place about a 10-minute walk away. Vancouver’s Chinatown is also within walking distance to both markets.

TIP #1: Don’t go when it first opens or just before it closes as many vendors don’t finish setting up by opening time and many start packing up early.
TIP #2: Another fabulous flea market is the Cloverdale Flea Market which takes place on Sundays at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. It’s huge and impressive.
