September 2026
Major happenings in early September include Labour Day Weekend events like the PNE Fair, Bands on the Beach, TAIWANfest, and the Vancouver Polish Festival. Later in the month there is the Coho Festival, Shipyards Festival, Fringe Festival, Vancouver International Flamenco Festival, GranFondo Cycling Race and Terry Fox Runs.
In September the Circo Osorio Circus visits the Lower Mainland. There are also events like the Stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow, Shipyards Night Market, Chilliwack Corn Maze, Snowbird RV Show, Chilliwack Garlic Festival, Big Pirate Run, the Word Vancouver literary arts festival, and Vancouver International Film Festival. There are also Car Free Day.
Towards the end of September there is Riverfest in New Westminster, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and other special days and events.
The weather is usually still good in September. Rainy season is fast approaching, but more often than not September is usually a pretty nice month.
Great things to do in September when the weather is good include exploring the region’s Parks & Nature. There are also walking tours with Forbidden Vancouver, outdoor adventure games with Vancouver Mysteries, and ropes course activities with WildPlay Maple Ridge, plus so much more! There are lots of great Shows to see too.
Museums to visit include the Vancouver Maritime Museum, Gulf of Georgia Cannery, Chinese Canadian Museum, and Britannia Mine. There is also Fort Langley and lots of other interesting places too.
