  • Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) – Vancouver’s annual summer fair with amusement rides, shows, vendor markets and live music. Tonight’s headliner band is Rick Springfield.
  • Guns N’ RosesNot this Lifetime Tour concert at BC Place Stadium.
  • Richmond World Festival – a free multicultural event at Minoru Park in Richmond (September 1-2, 2017).
  • Summer Concert Series – free live music at Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park Plaza from 7:00 until 9:00 pm featuring the Clavinova Nights Jazz Band as well as the Bruce James Orchestra.
  • Bard on the Beach Shakespeare FestivalShakespearean theatre at Vanier Park from June 1 to September 23. 2017 plays include Much Ado About Nothing, The Winter’s Tale, The Merchant of Venice and The Two Gentlemen of Verona.
  • Bill Reid Gallery – free admission at the Bill Reid First Nation’s art gallery between 2 and 5 pm (because it’s the first Friday of the month).

  • Labour Day – various activities celebrated all weekend long throughout the Lower Mainland.
    • Music in the Park – a community event celebrating art, music and Labour Day all afternoon at Capilano River Regional Park in North Vancouver from 12 to 5 pm.
  • Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) – last day of the season for Vancouver’s annual summer fair. Today’s iHeartRadio Beach Ball series of concerts include appearances byTrain, Blondie, Serena Ryder, The Philosopher Kings, Ruth B and Christian Hudson.
  • Taiwanese Cultural Festival – a festival celebrating everything Taiwanese along Granville Street and other downtown locations.
  • Bard on the Beach Shakespeare FestivalShakespearean theatre at Vanier Park.
