Typical July Weather
Along with August, July is typically the driest month of the year in Vancouver and without a doubt one of (if not the) best times to be in the city. The weather is warm (for Vancouver) and the days nice and long, with the sun still up well into the late evenings.
If you want to avoid the rain and you like warm temperatures, then July is usually a great month to be in Vancouver and outdoors at one of the city’s great beaches or parks enjoying the fabulous weather.
July temperatures can expect to hit a high of about 22 degrees C (or 72 F) on a typical day, and the lows hover around 13 C (or 55 F). It also only rains about 35 mm (so less than 1.5 inches), making Vancouver and the surrounding region one of the absolute best places to be in the world in July.
Recommended July Activities
Being the summer, July is one of the busiest times of the year for events and special outdoor activities. There seems to be an event of some kind some place every weekend.
There are often CBC Nooners live music performances outside the CBC Building at noon (by Georgia and Hamilton across from the main library in downtown Vancouver), and live outdoor music every Friday evening on the North Shore at various locations, including at Deep Cove, Cates Park and Edgemont Village.
Being comfortably hot and sunny, a typical July finds Vancouver’s parks and beaches packed with sunbathers, picnickers and people just enjoying the sunshine. There are farmers markets every weekend throughout the region, theatre in the parks, and all kinds of entertainment everywhere.
