Metro Vancouver Saturday Farmers Markets

Farmers Market Produce

Saturdays are the busiest days for farmers markets in the Lower Mainland with them occurring everywhere from the Fraser Valley to Vancouver and Squamish.

Lower Mainland Farmers Markets on Saturdays

Farmers markets on Saturdays in Vancouver take place at Riley Park, Trout Lake and the West End. In other parts of Metro Vancouver they happen in Burnaby, North Vancouver, Maple Ridge and Surrey. In the Fraser Valley they occur in Abbotsford and Fort Langley, and in the Sea to Sky region they take place in Squamish.

No matter where you live in the Lower Mainland, chances are pretty good there’s a farmers market near you on a Saturday. Check them out!

Note: Market details such as times, dates and venue addresses are subject to change. Check each market’s website for exact details.

Burnaby Artisan Farmers Market

The Burnaby Artisan Farmers Market can be found in the parking lot of Burnaby‘s City Hall at 4949 Canada Way on Saturdays.

This is a medium-sized market and a really good one. It runs from May 4th to October 26th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in 2024.

Lonsdale Artisan Farmers Market

The Lonsdale Artisan Farmers Market was a nice small market at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. It ran from May 6th to September 30th in 2023, with hours between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Unfortunately, this market is no longer running again.

About 20 or so vendors usually participated at this North Vancouver market, which made for a nice addition to the dozens of unique shops next door inside the Lonsdale Quay Public Market which is open year-round.

Vancouver Saturday Farmers Markets

Saturday markets within the City of Vancouver include farmers markets at Riley Park, Trout Lake and the West End.

In Vancouver on a Saturday in the summer the Trout Lake Farmers Market is definitely the most impressive, although the others are good too. In colder months, Riley Park is the largest winter market in the entire province!

Riley Park Farmers Market

Operating on Saturdays between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, the Riley Park Farmers Market is Vancouver’s newest summer market. In winter though, formerly known as the Nat Bailey Winter Farmers Market, it is one of the region’s oldest and largest.

Riley Park was launched in 2017 as a summer market with just under three dozen vendors. Since then, every summer, it continues to operate as a smaller summer market. In 2024 it runs on Saturdays from April 6th until October 26th.

Since the fall of 2018, however, and running all winter, Riley Park becomes the renamed Nat Bailey Winter Farmers Market and hosts over 60 vendors each week in the parking lot of Nat Bailey Stadium at 4601 Ontario Street. The most recent winter market began on November 5th in 2022 and ran until March 25th in 2023.

Click Riley Park Farmers Market for more details.

Trout Lake Farmers Market

The Trout Lake Farmers Market is a large and vibrant market that takes place between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm from early May to late October at Vancouver’s John Hendry Park near the intersection of 13th Avenue and Lakeview Drive.

The Trout Lake Community Centre is located at 3360 Victoria Drive towards the southwest end of John Hendry Park, to the west of Trout Lake. The summer market happens at the north end of the park, just north of the lake.

The Trout Lake Farmers Market’s season runs from April 6th until October 26th in 2024. It’s an impressive market on a busy day and one of our favourites.

The West End Farmers Market occurs on Saturdays from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm between late May and around the third weekend in October. It’s located on Comox Street by Nelson Park between Bute Street and Thurlow.

In 2024 the West End Farmers Market runs from May 18th until October 26th.

Fraser Valley Saturday Farmers Markets

The Fraser Valley is the Lower Mainland’s premier agricultural region, so you can expect the produce to be exceptionally local and fresh at the markets in Abbotsford and Fort Langley.

The Abbotsford Farm and Country Market usually takes place from mid-spring until mid-December in Abbotsford from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. (Note: Winter opening times may vary.)

Important Note: As of the summer of 2020 the market has a new venue – Jubilee Park at 2552 McCallum Road which is at the edge of downtown Abbotsford.

Fort Langley Village Farmers Market

The Fort Langley Village Farmers Market is a great farmers market that takes place between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm at 9025 Glover Road in Fort Langley from early May until the very end of October most years.

Sea to Sky Saturday Farmers Markets

About a 50-minute drive from Vancouver along a scenic highway is the town of Squamish, home to a farmers market in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lower Mainland.

Squamish Farmers Market

The Squamish Farmers Market is the fairly large farmers market in the Sea to Sky region that takes place at the corner of Victoria Street and Cleveland Avenue in Squamish.

Shopping at the market starts at 10:00 am and remains open until 3:00 pm every Saturday from April until near the end of the year.

In 2024 the market runs from April 6th until December 14th.

Weekend Night Markets

In addition to all the above farmers markets, in the summer on weekends, including Saturdays, a number of exceptional night markets take place throughout the region.

Night markets on Saturday include the Richmond Night Market which has a distinctly Asian theme and very little in the way of organic produce and locally grow vegetables. For different reasons, though, it too is well worth visiting on Saturday evenings in Metro Vancouver.
