The Fraser Valley is the region outside Metro Vancouver from Mission and Abbotsford to Hope including Cultus Lake, Harrison Hot Springs and Langley.
The area also includes Chilliwack, Fort Langley and other rural communities.

Fraser Valley Events
There are lots of great events that take place in the Fraser Valley. Some of the best festivals, events and markets are listed below.
Early Winter Events in the Fraser Valley
- Taste of the Valley – an event where you can sample food and drinks and buy artisan products at Chilliwack Heritage Park in late winter.
- Earlybird RV Show – a recreational vehicle trade show at the TRADEX Centre (usually in February).
- Fort Langley Half Marathon – 1 km, 5 km, 10 km and 21 km running races in Fort Langley in February.
- Western Golf Expo – a golf trade show in late winter some years at the TRADEX Centre in Abbotsford.
- Pet Lover Show – a pet-themed trade show at Abbotsford TRADEX that takes place in February (although it hasn’t happened for a number of years).
Spring Events in the Fraser Valley
Below is a list of flower and farm-themed events as well as a list of various other events that happen in the Fraser Valley in spring.
Flower and Farm-Related Events in the Fraser Valley in Spring
- Abbotsford Tulip Festival – a large flower festival at Lakeland Flower in Abbotsford.
- Botanica Tulip Festival – a new flower festival in Chilliwack which is located where the Chilliwack Tulip Festival used to take place at until it moved to Agassiz and became the Harrison Tulip Festival.
- Chilliwack Plowing Match – tractor competitions, live music, and family-friendly activities at Greendale Acres.
- Chilliwack Tulip Festival – a large tulip festival in Chilliwack each year in or around April. (Note: As of 2024 this event has a new location and a new name. It’s now called the Harrison Tulip Festival and its new location is in the Agassiz-Harrison Hot Springs area. That being said, at the Chilliwack Tulip Festival’s former venue, there is now the Botanica Tulip Festival.
- Harrison Tulip Festival – the new name for the flower festival that used to take place in Chilliwack but now happens in Agassiz (as of 2024).
- Sweet Spring – family-friendly activities and flowers to enjoy at Greendale Acres Farm in Chilliwack.
Other Events in the Fraser Valley in Spring
- Bunnies & Booze – an adults-only Easter event at Maan Farms in the spring.
- Brookswood Community Car Show – a car show that’s also a fundraising event for a school in Langley in May.
- Easterfest and Adult Egg Hunts – Easter-themed events happen at Taves Farm on the Easter holiday weekend (and usually on the weekend before too).
- Greendale Acres Easter Egg Hunt – an Easter-themed event at Greendale Acres Farm in Chilliwack.
- Maan Farms Easter Egg Hunts – family-friendly Easter events happen at Maan Farms on the Easter long weekend. The farm also hosts adults-only Easter events too.
- Peteys Easter Eggstravaganza – an Easter train, egg hunt and other activities at Fantasy Farms in Chilliwack.
- A Night of Illumination – an Easter-themed event for adults at Fantasy Farms in the spring.
- Westcoast Wellness Show – a health and wellness-themed event in Langley. (It took place in 2023. Whether it does again, however, is to be confirmed.)
Summer Events in the Fraser Valley
The following are lists of summer events that take place in the summer in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Langley, Mission and the Harrison Hots Springs regions.
Summer Events in Abbotsford
- Abbotsford Agrifair – an agricultural fair that includes a midway, amusement rides and lots of animals at Exhibition Park in early August.
- The Abbotsford Airshow – one of Canada’s largest airshows in August.
- Symphony in the Park – a free concert at Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford in the summer.
- Abbotsford Summer Flower Festival – fields of flowers to check out at Lakeland Flowers from July to September.
- Canada Day in Abbotsford – family-friendly activities happen at Abbotsford Exhibition Park on July 1st. There is also a parade.
Summer Events in Chilliwack
- Fraser Valley Classic Car Show – a car show that raises money for Chilliwack General Hospital in June.
- The Chilliwack Corn Festival – a family-friendly event at Greendale Acres (which is also home to the Chilliwack Corn Maze).
- Chilliwack Flight Fest – a small (but free) airshow at the Chilliwack Airport in August.
- Chilliwack Party in the Park – a food truck-themed community event hosted by the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival at Central Community Park in the spring.
- The Chilliwack Pride Festival – a 2SLGBTQIA+ event in downtown Chilliwack in July.
- Chilliwack Corn Maze – a world-famous attraction at Greendale Acres Farm.
- The Chilliwack Mural Fest – murals, tours and other activities in downtown Chilliwack in August.
- Chilliwack Ribfest – a community event with food trucks, barbecued rib vendors, live entertainment and family-friendly activities at Vedder Park in the summer.
- Chilliwack Sunflower Festival – fields of flowers at a farm in Chilliwack. (Note: As of 2023 this event is now called the Harrison Sunflower Festival and takes place near Harrison Hot Springs.)
- Canada Day – family-friendly events take place at Townsend Park on July 1st.
Summer Events in Langley
- Aldergrove Fair Days – an annual community festival in July with food trucks, competitions, live entertainment and other family-friendly activities.
- Brigade Days at Fort Langley – special activities happen at the Fort Langley National Historic Site on the BC Day Long Weekend.
- Fort Langley Jazz Festival – a music and arts festival in Fort Langley in July.
- Ribfest Langley – an event hosted by Langley Rotary Clubs with barbecued rib vendors, live entertainment and family-friendly activities at McLeod Athletic Park in July.
- Canada Day Events – family-friendly events take place on July 1st in Aldergrove, Fort Langley and the Township of Langley (at McLeod Athletic Park and Willoughby Community Park). They also take place in the City of Langley some years (but not every year).
Summer Events in Mission
- The Mission Folk Music Festival – a music festival at Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission in July.
- Mission Ribfest – one weekend of live entertainment, rib vendors, food trucks and more at Fraser River Heritage Park in August. (It happened in 2024, but might not take place again in the future.)
- Mission Twilight Concerts – free live entertainment at Mission’s Fraser River Heritage Park on Friday evenings in the summer.
- Canada day in Mission – family-friendly activities take place at Fraser River Heritage Park on July 1st.
Summer Events in Harrison Hot Springs
- Sasquatch Days – First Nations’ canoe races and cultural activities at Harrison Hot Springs in June.
- Harrison Sunflower Festival – a new flower festival in Agassiz which isn’t far from Harrison Hot Springs. (Note: It used to be the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival until it moved to a new farm in Agassiz.)
Autumn Events in the Fraser Valley

- Harrison Sunflower Festival – a new flower festival at a farm not far from Harrison Hot Springs. (Note: It used to be the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival, until 2023 when it moved to a new farm in Agassiz.)
- Sky’s No Limit: Girls Fly Too – a free airplane and aviation-themed event in Abbotsford.
- Snowbird RV Show – a recreational vehicle-themed event at the TRADEX Centre in Abbotsford in autumn.
- Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival – an opportunity for people to admire hundreds of eagles around Mission, Harrison Hot Springs and Harrison Mills in November. (NOTE: The eagles still come, but the festival no longer happens as a formal event.)
- American Crown Circus Circo Osorio – a circus from Las Vegas that usually comes to the Lower Mainland in the fall, including usually a stop in Abbotsford.
Christmas Events in the Fraser Valley
- All About Christmas Gifts Expo – a large winter holiday-themed market at Heritage Park in December.
- Christmas in Williams Park – a free drive-through Christmas event in Langley in the first half of December.
- Chilliwack Rotary Christmas Parade – a free and family-friendly Santa Claus parade in downtown Chilliwack.
- Glow Christmas – the largest indoor Christmas attraction in BC at the Milner Village Garden Centre in Langley from late November until the end of December.
- Kickoff to Christmas Makers Market – a Christmas craft market at the Ag Rec Building at Abbotsford’s Exhibition Park in November.
- Langley’s Magic of Christmas – a free Christmas celebration in early December with craft stations, live entertainment and more at the Timms Community Centre.
- Merry & Bright at Martini Town – a Christmas attraction at a movie studio in Langley.
- Mission Candlelight Parade – a fun Christmas parade that happens in early December in downtown Mission.
- West Coast Christmas Show – a Christmas trade show and holiday artisan market at the TRADEX Centre in Abbotsford in November.
- Winter Jubilee – a celebration of the Christmas season in November with free activities in downtown Abbotsford.
Fraser Valley Markets
- Abbotsford Farm & Country Market – a weekly farmers market that takes place on Saturday’s most years from around 9:00 am until 1:00 pm between late April or early May and the middle of December.
- Abbotsford Flea Market – a year-round market that used to take place on Sundays. When in operation, it featured as many as 200+ vendors selling both new and used items at Abbotsford Exhibition Park. (Note: This flea market closed permanently as of 2024.)
- Fort Langley Village Farmers Market – a weekly summer market on Saturdays in Fort Langley.
- Olde Farmhouse Vintage Market – a market featuring over 100 vendors selling antiques, collectibles, jewellery, handmade goods and other home and garden treasures at TRADEX in Abbotsford on a weekend in both April and November.
Christmas in the Fraser Valley
Similar to other parts of the Lower Mainland, the Fraser Valley gets decorated with Christmas lights in December.
Best places to admire winter holiday illuminations and get into the festive spirit include Glow Gardens and Loft Country Christmas in Langley, plus Peteys Country Christmas at Fantasy Farms in Chilliwack. There are also pretty lights in Cultus Lake at night, and Christmas decorations and activities in Fort Langley.

- Sasquatch Museum – a free attraction with exhibits about local culture and folklore.

- Eagle Acres Dairy Farm – a small farm in North Langley with cows, educational programs and a pumpkin patch in the fall.
- Fort to Fort Trail – a pathway along the Fraser River between Fort Langley and Derby Reach Regional Park.

- Twilight Drive-In – the Lower Mainland’s only drive-in theatre, located at the corner of 260th Street and the Fraser Highway in Langley. (NOTE: This place closed in 2024.)

- Mission Raceway Park – a popular racing facility that hosts many events.
