Vancouver’s Chuck E Cheese Restaurant and Children’s Arcade

Chuck E Cheese

Chuck E. Cheese is a children’s restaurant, kids’ arcade, and admittedly one of the best places to take young folks for indoor entertainment in Vancouver.

The American restaurant chain offers pizza, chicken wings and other kid-friendly items on the menu. It also has a small salad bar and serves beer (for the adults, not the kids!).

Children like the food, and they adore the entertainment. The place isn’t for everyone, but young folk will love you for taking them there.

Chuck E. Cheese is ideal for families with children ages 4 to 8, although it can be fun for family members of all ages.

What’s at Chuck E. Cheese?

Chuck E. Cheese is more than just a restaurant – it’s a giant video arcade for little kids that also sells food. It’s a lot like Pizza Planet, the place where Buzz Lightyear and Woody visit in the movie Toy Story, although not quite as fancy.

At Chuck E. Cheese there are ball toss games, car races, an air hockey table, video games, jumping games, photo booths and lots and lots of noise and lights – all of which little people love!

What’s especially good about Chuck E. Cheese is the price – each game costs less than 50 cents, so far less than a regular arcade game that adults and teenagers might normally play.

The trouble with the low price though is you (or at least your kids) will want to play lots of games. Still, if you ration your tokens, a family with two children can probably last up to 90 minutes playing games for only about $30, without food, but up to $100 if they go truly crazy.

There are two other great things about Chuck E. Cheese. First, children love the fact that games spit out tickets that they can collect and redeem at the end for cheap little prizes.

Second, when they need a break from the excitement, parents love the fact that the restaurant is secure, so they (the parents) can sit and relax at a table while their kids run off on their own.

Where is Chuck E. Cheese?

Chuck E. Cheese in the Lower Mainland is located at 6339 200th Street in Langley. If heading east from Vancouver along the Trans-Canada Highway, take a right at the 200 Street exit. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, so there is lots of parking.

The building is open seven days a week. From Sunday to Thursday the hours of operation are 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. On Friday it’s 11:00 am to 10:00 pm and Saturday it’s 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Tips and Advice

Below are some suggestions and general information to help you make the most of your visit to Chuck E. Cheese.

TIP #1: If you like places like this, another great venue to check out is the Adventure Zone at Granville Island. It has over 50 games located at the Kids Market which is full of specialty stores that both kids and their parents will love.

TIP #2: Check the Chuck E. Cheese website for coupons.

TIP #3: Don’t forget to wash your hands afterwards – lots of sticky little fingers touch all those arcade game buttons.

TIP #4: If on a budget then help your kids choose their games wisely. Some last five seconds per token, while others can last a couple of minutes. The car race games are especially good value, as is the photo booth, air hockey and “Let’s Make a Deal” game.

TIP #5: Any age can enjoy Chuck E. Cheese, but really it’s for very young children. Kids over 8 will still have lots of fun, but they’ll be some of the oldest.

TIP #6: Do take your young kids or grandchildren to Chuck E. Cheese at least once, especially on a rainy day. They will have a blast and love you for it.
