Wondering what to do in Vancouver this weekend? Lots of events are happening in the Lower Mainland including festivals, theatre performances and more.

This Weekend in Vancouver

Highlights of the weekend of March 22nd to 24th include Shen Yun, the Vancouver Auto Show and Spring Break school holidays (which run from March 18th to 29th). This weekend there is also an Eagles tribute concert with Take It To The Limit in Mission and the Sea to Sky Model Train & Hobby Show at the Railway Museum of BC in Squamish. In Vancouver there is a Holi Fest Boat Party with Vancouver Boat Parties and the Handel: Hallelujah & Trumpets concert with Early Music Vancouver at the Chan Centre.

For Spring Break and those looking for early Easter activities, there is Mini Mud Monsters at the Britannia Mine Museum, in Chilliwack and Hoppy Heights at Cap Bridge on the North Shore. In the Fraser Valley there is also Petey’s Easter Eggstravaganza, Family Night at Fantasy Farms and A Night of Illumination.

Also this weekend, there are live comedy shows at The Improv Centre on Granville Island and multidimensional films at FlyOver Canada. Other things to do include outdoor adventure games with Vancouver Mysteries, walking tours with Forbidden Vancouver, and indoor virtual reality games at Zero Latency.

Visual & Performing Arts Events

  • Shen Yun – a world-famous New York-based Chinese performing arts production at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
  • Handel: Hallelujah & Trumpets – an Early Music Vancouver concert featuring classics by Handel and Heinichen at the Chan Centre of Performing Arts at UBC.
  • Polish Canadian Art Fusion Exhibition – today is the Grand Opening of the themed painting competition at the Inlet Theatre Galleria in Port Moody. The show runs daily until March 27th. Admission is free. There is also The Art of Music Concert at the theatre at 4:30pm where tickets cost $30.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Highlights of the long weekend of March 29th to April 1st include family-friendly Easter activities in the Fraser Valley like Petey’s Easter Eggstravaganza, Baby Animal Easter Days at Maan Farms, and Easterfest at Taves Family Farm. Also in the Fraser Valley, but for adults, there is Bunnies & Booze at Maan Farms and A Night of Illumination at Fantasy Farms.

In Vancouver, there is The Big Easter Run at Jericho Beach and the Hello Spring Art Fair & Egg Hunt at Pacific Arts Market. The Easter Train is also happening at Stanley Park. In the Sea to Sky region, meanwhile, there are Easter activities at Britannia Mine.

Other fun activities this time of year include outdoor adventure games with Vancouver Mysteries, walking tours with Forbidden Vancouver, live comedy at The Improv Centre, and virtual reality games at Zero Latency in both Vancouver and Langley. There are also great indoor things to see at museums all over the Lower Mainland.
