Glow Langley Christmas Attraction
Glow is one of the Lower Mainland’s most popular Christmas attractions. It happened in a drive-through-style format for a couple of years because of COVID-19, but returned to its usual walkthrough format in 2022. It was back again as a walk-around in 2023!
At the event there is an outdoor maze full of beautiful displays and over a million lights. There are also a number of indoor venues where visitors can find market vendors, live entertainment and the holiday train. The place features a massive collection of Christmas lights and festive displays. Last year, the event introduced something new – carnival games, a kids scavenger hunt and a craft corner.

Tips & Advice
Check out the following suggestions to make your Christmas experience especially memorable.
TIP #1: If you’ve been to Christmas Glow before, don’t skip it this year thinking that it’ll be the same. It isn’t! The theme is totally different and much of what you’ll see is different too!
TIP #2: About half of the attraction is indoors and the other half is outside. This is great because you’re out in the fresh air for a lot of the time, but there are also lots of things to do and see indoors on rainy days.
TIP #3: Last year, the event featured a number of Free Snack Nights. On those dates ticket holders got a voucher for a complimentary treat. Free Snack Nights dates and their corresponding goodies were the following in 2023. This may be the same in 2024:
- Thursday, November 23rd – Popcorn
- Tuesday, December 12th – Churro (which is a Mexican donut)
- Thursday, December 14th – Cotton Candy
- Monday, December 18th – Hot Chocolate, Latte or Coke
- Tuesday, December 19th – Mini Donuts
TIP #4: Guests are encouraged to bring a new toy to donate to the Surrey Christmas Bureau in the last weekend in November.
About Christmas Glow
Glow is the creation of the owners of Milner Village which is a garden centre and greenhouse facility in Langley. They have a large garden centre store and farming operation. The main crop is poinsettias, but the garden centre also grows tomatoes and a few other products. The place is famous for its poinsettias (which is why so many people buy them at the Christmas Glow event)!
Milner Village Garden Centre has massive greenhouses. Mid-winter is slow season for the garden industry and so between late November and the beginning of January they don’t need all the indoor space. So in 2017, the family-owned business decided to turn one of its giant greenhouses into Glow.
In 2019, due to zoning issues at its location in Langley, Christmas Glow had to move to a new Lower Mainland venue. That’s why the festival took place in both Vancouver and Abbotsford. Christmas Glow isn’t just a Lower Mainland event, however. Due to its tremendous initial success, in recent years it has had locations in Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Saskatoon, Pittsburgh, Seattle and even Odense Denmark!
In 2020 the event returned to Langley, and the 2021/2022 event happened in Langley once again. Both those years Glow Christmas was a drive-through event because of COVID-19. In 2022 it was back as a live, in-person event, but this time with half the activities indoors and the other half outdoors. The same was the case in 2023.
Glow Gardens is a fabulous “made-in-the-Lower-Mainland” success story!
