First Impressions Theatre hosts great productions at North Vancouver’s Deep Cove Shaw Theatre. Its 2026-2027 season features shows from September to May.

The final show of the 2025-2026 season is Singers in a Smoky Room. It runs from April 30th to May 16th. We saw it on Open Night and it was exceptional! So good! If you like the music of the 1980’s, from Bon Jovi to Madonna, you’ll really enjoy this show.

Singers in a Smoky Room

First Impressions Theatre at Deep Cove

First Impressions Theatre is a small theatre company based on Vancouver’s North Shore. Like the Deep Cove Stage Society, it hosts shows at the Deep Cove Shaw Theatre, which is one part of the Deep Cove Cultural Centre.

The venue is located at 4360 Gallant Avenue in North Vancouver. Although the facility is small with just 130 seats, First Impressions Theatre puts on excellent productions each year.

The theatre hosts shows each year from fall through spring. In 2026, the theatre celebrates its 43rd anniversary.

2025-2026 Season

The 2025-2026 season featured four shows between September and May. They were Jake’s Gift, Gunmetal Blues, Art and Singers in a Smoky Room.

The final show of the season is Singers in a Smoky Room. It runs from April 30th to May 16th, 2026, at the Deep Cove Shaw Theatre.

Tickets to First Impressions Theatre productions are reasonably priced. Adult tickets usually cost about $35, with lower prices available for students and seniors.

Singers in a Smoky Room

April 30th – May 16th, 2026

Singers in a Smoky Room features plenty of throwback ’80s music (and also some throwback ’80s hairstyles). The show features dancing, singing and a live house band in the Flashback Club.

2026-2027 Season

The 2026-2027 season starts on September 3rd 2026, and runs until May 8th next year.

General admission to regular shows usually costs $35 per adult, though prices per show are yet to be confirmed for the upcoming season.

At the time of writing in early May, the theatre is offering early-bird pricing for the 2026-2027 season. The $89 offer is available until May 17th 2026.

Paparazzi

September 3rd – September 12th, 2026

Paparazzi opens the 2026-2027 season. The show combines opera and comedy. The story follows Paparazzi and a group of music makers as they explore opera as a music form.

Lunenberg

November 12th – November 28th, 2026

Lunenberg is a mystery-comedy about a widowed woman who learns that her late husband owned a house in Nova Scotia. She travels with her friend to uncover her husband’s secret life in an adventure-type production.

Little Shop of Horrors

February 18th – March 6th, 2027

Little Shop of Horrors is a dark and funny horror musical about a very unusual plant. The story follows a struggling flower shop worker whose life changes after he discovers a strange plant.

A History of Motown

April 29th – May 8th, 2027

A History of Motown is the last show of the season. The production celebrates the influence of Motown, featuring songs by the era’s most iconic artists. Award-winning performer Krystle Dos Santos leads the show with a band and singers.
