Deep Cove Theatre

Deep Cove Stage Society is a theatre company that puts on plays at the Deep Cove Shaw Theatre in the Village of Deep Cove in North Vancouver.

Shows in the theatre’s 2026/27 season include An Act of the Imagination in October, A Christmas Story in December, The Complete Works of Jane Austen Abridged in March and April 2027, and Kong’s Night Out in June 2027.

NOTE: Another theatre company that’s also based out of Deep Cove, and really good, is First Impressions Theatre. They put on exceptional shows. Deep Cove Stage Society in North Vancouver

Founded in 1974, Deep Cove Stage Society (DCSS) is a not-for-profit organization that hosts theatre shows in North Vancouver. DCSS is one of two theatre companies that share the Deep Cove Shaw Theatre at 4360 Gallant Avenue in Deep Cove. The other company is First Impressions Theatre. As an organization, DCSS has been entertaining North Shore audiences for around 50 years!

2026/2027 Season

DCSS puts on shows from autumn to spring most years. Their 2026/2027 season begins in October. There are four different productions, each of which shows for about two weeks at a time. Below is information about all four shows.

An Act of the Imagination

Select dates between October 8th and 24th, 2026

DCSS kicks off their 2026/2027 season with An Act of the Imagination. Written by Bernard Slade and directed by Val Mason, the play is about a mystery writer mysteriously turned romance novelist. The story includes blackmail, death, murder, a disappearance and conspiracies.

Tickets cost $25 for adults and $22 for seniors and students.

A Christmas Story

Select dates from December 16th to 31st, 2026

A Christmas Story is the Deep Cove Stage’s Christmas show. The movie classic comedy tale is adapted by Philip Grecian and directed by Karen Hamm and Maryth Gilroy. Be ready to belly laugh while Ralphie Parker seeks the genuine Red Ryder BB gun.

Shows runs on select dates from December 16th to 31st. Admission costs $22 per person.

The Complete Works of Jane Austen, Abridged

Select dates between March 25th and April 10th, 2027

The Complete Works of Jane Austen, Abridged is a comedy by Jessica Bedford, Kathryn MacMillan, Charlotte Northeast and Meghan Winch. John Cousins directs it. The humorous story takes you on a quick ride through many of Jane Austen’s classical pieces. Be ready to be swept away in this fast-paced journey into Jane Austen’s world.

Tickets cost $22 for students and seniors. Admission for adults is $25 each.

Kong’s Night Out

Select dates between June 3rd and 19th, 2027

Kong’s Night Out was written by Jack Neary and the show is directed by Kennedy Goodkey. This clever story is about the making of the Kong story and Ann, the beautiful woman that Kong falls in love with. A good tip is to see the 1933 movie before coming to see the show – you’ll not regret it.

Tickets cost $25 for adults and $22 for students and seniors.
