Maan Farms Scariest Corn Maze

Haunted Corn Mazes at Maan Farms

Located at 790 McKenzie Road in Abbotsford, Maan Farms usually has more than one corn maze. One is often suitable for all ages in the fall and is fun for young children to explore during the day. At night, however, the other corn maze and Halloween experiences can be ultra-scary!

In 2023 there were three haunted attractions at Maan Farms. They were The Slaughterhouse, The Way Down and Homestead.

The Slaughterhouse still bills itself as “the scariest corn maze in Canada.” With the Way Down, guests had to wear a hood over their heads before entering the underworld. Homestead, meanwhile, involved checking into a horror theatre from hell. It was an immersive and full contact experience. All were both super fun and scary!

The Haunted Corn Maze

The Haunted Corn Maze is one of if not the scariest and most extreme haunted attraction in Western Canada. It’s definitely one of the best!

The same as the year before, the corn maze in 2023 had a Slaughterhouse theme. Flesh-eating pigs chased guests through the maze. Some of the live actors had loud chainsaws as well.

What to Expect

If you visit Maan Farms at night in October you can expect to see lots of young adults, pumpkins and people having fun. If you arrive early enough, you’ll see thousands of pumpkins in the field. You’ll also see the occasional monster-like character wandering around the country store, parking lot and entrance to the attraction. Dozens more ghastly creatures await in the maze.

When you go inside the maze attractions, whether it be the Slaughterhouse, The Way Down or Homestead, you’ll find some of the scariest creatures and scenes you have ever encountered!

We checked out the Haunted Corn Maze in 2020 and were thoroughly impressed. The maze went in one direction, so you wouldn’t get lost. You likely also wouldn’t have run into any other guests, at least not inside the maze or its various structures. What you would have found, however, were about 70 live actors in ghastly costumes.

In addition to walking through the maze, there were also around 18 or so structures to enter that year. Inside the buildings were hallways and rooms filled with wonderfully frightening scenes. People were being tortured, mad scientists were conducting experiments, psychopaths were in pain and monsters wanted to eat you.

It took about 15 minutes to get through the entire attraction in 2020, or maybe slightly longer. The Haunted Corn Maze/Slaughterhouse was similar in 2022, but also quite different. In 2022 there were lots of live actors with pig heads in the corn maze. Some of them chased visitors with chainsaws! The experience in 2023 was similar.

Slaughterhouse Video

The following video shows scenes from inside The Slaughterhouse in 2022. The attraction was full of all kinds of different terrifying scenes and experiences. It was really cool (and terribly frightening)! We loved it!

Haunted Corn Maze Video

To give you even more of an idea of what to expect in the corn maze, check out the following video. It’s of scenes we saw inside the maze when we visited in 2020. As you’ll see, the attraction features dozens of live actors screaming, writhing in agony, and looking absolutely terrifying. It’s an impressive event!

The Way Down Video

Below is a video about the Way Down haunted experience in 2022. We at Vancouver’s Best Places filmed the above two videos. This next one though was produced by Maan Farms.

As you’ll see in the video, the Way Down is quite terrifying. It’s full contact, immersive and authentically frightening! Oh, and you have to wear a hood (which makes it even scarier)!

Other Things to Know

Below are some other useful bits of information to help you make the most of your haunted corn maze experience.

  • The event takes place rain or shine, so bring a raincoat if necessary. Boots are also highly recommended as the ground can get muddy, even on days when it doesn’t rain.
  • To ensure not too many people are in the maze at any one time, don’t expect to go in right away. Expect to have to wait a while for your turn.
  • The scary experiences aren’t recommended for children under the age of 10, people with nervous dispositions, pregnant women or folks with heart issues. There are special effects, which may include strobe lights, so the experiences also aren’t recommended for people with sensitivities to flashing lights.
  • Don’t complain if the experience gives you nightmares afterwards. You’ve been warned!
  • Tickets are non-refundable.
