Holiday Lights in Williams Park is a free drive-through-style Christmas event in Langley. You can explore it from your car in December.

The Christmas lights event in Williams Park is one of several winter holiday attractions in Langley. Others include the Langley Christmas Village, Glow Christmas and Merry & Bright at Martini Town. On the other side of the Fraser River, there is also Timberline Country Christmas. In Surrey, meanwhile, there is the Noel Holiday Light Festival.

Drive-Through Christmas Lights Attraction in the Township of Langley

Holiday Lights in Williams Park is a drive-through display operated by the Township of Langley. The public drives slowly through the park while enjoying festive lights from the comfort and warmth of their vehicles. Admission is free, but advance registration is required. No drop-ins are permitted.

Where and When

Williams Park is at 68th Avenue and 238 Street in the Township of Langley. It’s about a 10-minute drive from Trinity Western University, the Canadian Museum of Flight and the Greater Vancouver Zoo. It’s also about a 15-minute drive northeast of the City of Langley (which is a different municipality from the Township of Langley).

In 2025, Holiday Lights in Williams Park ran from Saturday, December 13th to Sunday, December 28th. The park was closed December 24th, 25th and 26th.

Last year’s display was open nightly from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Visitors were able to register online for 30-minute time slots. Only one person per vehicle needed to register on the Township of Langley’s official website.

About Holiday Lights in Williams Park

The annual display at Williams Park has been running for over 34 years. Previously organized by the Christmas in Williams Park Society, it is now operated by the Township of Langley.

The event is completely free. However, donations for the Aldergrove Food Bank are encouraged. Donations can be made at online registration or at the event by credit or debit card. Cash or food donations are not accepted on-site.

New for 2025

In the 2025 season, there were some new additions to the event as described below.

Holiday Lights Radio: Visitors could tune their vehicle radios to 106.7 FM for holiday music that matched the drive.
Winter Wonder Quest: A printable scavenger hunt was available online, which added more fun to the visit. Kids looked for themed items along the route.

What to Expect

In December Williams Park turns into a Christmas wonderland with many twinkling lights adorned throughout. If there’s some snow on the ground, the allure is even more magical. The experience adds to the build-up to Christmas.

This free event is fun to attend at night and can be enjoyed from the warmth and comfort of your car. The displays dazzle people of all ages and make for colourful photo opportunities.

At the event you can expect to see lots of families in their cars driving around and admiring the holiday illuminations. It’s a bit like Lights at Lafarge in Coquitlam, or Bright Nights at Stanley Park, but from your vehicle and without the Stanley Park train. (Note: Since 2025, Bright Nights happens in Surrey, as part of the Noel Holiday Lights Festival.)

Holiday Lights in Williams Park is a great event for several reasons. It’s beautiful and free. It’s accessible for people who find it hard to walk around (assuming you have access to a vehicle). And finally, it’s something you can do on a rainy day without getting wet (unless you drive around with your windows open so you can see better).
