Lakeland Flowers in Spring & Early Summer

The Abbotsford Tulip Festival is a famous flower festival. It runs from around mid-April until early May. It’s an impressive event featuring millions of beautiful tulips of every colour. There are other flowers for the public to enjoy at the farm too, however, up until the middle of June.

After the tulip season finishes, unlike other flower festivals in the Vancouver region, Lakeland Flowers remains open. The tulips might be gone, but other flowers are just beginning. Starting in early May there are fields full of lupins, peonies and wildflowers. A little while later, starting around the third week of May and continuing throughout most of June, there are fields of lavender.

The farm is also usually home to a dozen or so acres of golden yellow collards and half a dozen acres of white buckwheat. The fields of Lavender, meanwhile, bloom in June.
