Public Disco on Granville Island

Public Disco is a non-profit that hosts pop-up style events in Metro Vancouver. It hosts one, for example, in June on Granville Island.

Some of the events are free and some are ticketed. In 2026 the first Public Disco event took place in early April. On June 5th and 6th was the Granville Island Block Party at Lot 55. Later in the summer there were various events along Granville Street and in Gastown, as well as a Pride Block Party on August 1st.

The final Public Disco event of the year is the Public Disco Festival at the Shipyards on Saturday, October 3rd. It’s a ticketed event for ages 19+. Some of the artists playing at it include Leon Vynehall, Fred P, Prosumer and DJ Holographic. The event runs from 2:00 until 10:00 pm and tickets cost around $65.

Public Disco Events in Vancouver

The Public Disco Society works to bring Metro Vancouver communities together through music. The non-profit organization hosts various disco-style events each year. Some are free for all ages to attend, while others are ticketed and for adults only. The events feature DJs and artists, as well as inclusive and welcoming environments. In some cases, there are also market vendors, pop-up bars and food trucks.

Blossom Block Party

Presented by both the Public Disco Society and the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, the Blossom Block Party was a one-day event on April 4th, 2026. It ran from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Bentall Centre at 1055 Dunsmuir Street.

Admission to the event was by donation. It was a celebration of the beginning of spring with music, dancing, activities for kids and more. Food trucks were on-site and there was a bar with alcoholic beverages for adults. The entertainment lineup in 2026 featured Sakiko Nagai, Kozue, Niña Mendoza and Beiti.

Granville Island Block Party

Public Disco’s 2026 Summer Series kicked off with a free event on the Friday and Saturday of June 4th and 5th. The Granville Island Block Party took place at Lot 55 on Granville Island. The outdoor venue is behind the Granville Island Brewing building at 1411 Cartwright Street. The festivities ran from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the Friday and 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the Saturday.

This year the event featured music curated by Brendocha on the first day. It highlighted Latin club sounds, salsa, guaracha and more. The second day’s lineup was curated by 2flowers and included house and disco music.

Although the Granville Island Block Party was open to all ages, it’s was fully licensed event. There was lots of drinking, dancing and socializing. A small food market with local vendors and food trucks was on-site throughout the event. There were also special activities for children to enjoy.

Public Disco at City Centre Artist Lodge

The first ticketed event in the Summer Series was a party on July 18th, 2026. It happened at City Centre Artist Lodge, located at 2111 Main Street in Vancouver.

Headliners of the pop-up event were Musclecars and DJ Heather, both from the US. Also performing were Luke McKeehan and Lerma. The event ran from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

Ticket prices ranged from about $28 to $56 per person. The event was only for those ages 19 and above.

Pride Block Party

The Pride Block Party was the other ticketed event in Public Disco’s 2026 Summer Series. It ran from 4:00 pm to 11:30 pm on August 1st. The event happened at West 3rd Avenue and Ontario Street. It’s in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood just a few blocks south of Science World.

The Pride celebration is for adults only. It included queer dance music from a lineup curated by Jesse Walker and DJ dood. This year’s event featured two stages. Performers included Coloured Craig, CarrieOnDisco, Fisher Bryce and others.

Tickets to the 2026 Pride Block Party cost between about $24 and $54 each.

Downtown Block Party

The Downtown Block Party took place on August 29th in 2026 at the Vancouver Art Gallery’s North Plaza at 750 Hornby Street in Vancouver. The event began at 2:00 pm and finished at 10:00 pm. It’s free to attend.

The final event of this year’s Summer Series featured a music lineup curated by DJ Dairy Free. Similar to the Granville Island Block Party in June, there were market and food vendors, kids activities, a record sale and more. The event is a fun place to be for those of all ages.

Public Disco Festival

The Public Disco Festival is a new event in 2026. It happens on October 3rd and is a celebration of electronic music with 10 artists performing across two stages between 2:00 pm and 10:00 pm. The event happens at the Shipyards District in North Vancouver.

The main stage performers in 2026 are Leon Vynehall, Fred P, Prosumer, DJ Holographic, Dane and DJ Hannah. Performing on the secondary stage are Scott W, Kozue, Christa Belle and Serena S.

Tickets to the festival started at $45 for early bird pricing and rise to as high as $75 if you buy them last-minute. Standard pricing is $65.
