Shipyards Long Summer Nights Outdoor Concerts

Shipyard Market Band

Free outdoor concerts take place in Shipbuilders’ Square in North Vancouver‘s Lower Lonsdale district on Saturday evenings in July and August most years.

In 2023 Long Summer Nights took place in the Shipyards on Saturdays between July 22nd and August 26th. Also in 2023, there was the Shipyards Night Market on Fridays throughout the summer until mid-September. It too had evening concerts. Both the Long Summer Nights and Shipyards Night Market are happening again in 2024, although exact details are to be confirmed.

Shipyards Night Market

After not happening for a few years, the Shipyards Night Market returned on Friday nights between May 12th and September 15th in 2023. The weekly event ran from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Shipbuilders’ Square. The event featured live music, food vendors and a beer garden.

Another series of summer events in 2023 was Long Summer Nights at the Shipyards. The events ran on Saturdays between June 22nd and August 26th. At that event, there was themed entertainment, workshops and more to enjoy.

North Vancouver Saturday Concerts

In 2019 the Summer Sessions series of concerts took place every Saturday from July 6th to August 10th. The series hasn’t returned since then. However, in 2023, Long Summer Nights at the Shipyards took place on Saturdays from July 22nd until August 26th, and is likely to happen again in 2024, although exact details are to be confirmed.

Where is Shipbuilders’ Square?

Shipbuilders’ Square is located at 138 Victory Ship Way. It’s at the bottom of Lonsdale Avenue in North Vancouver just a five-minute walk east of the SeaBus terminal at Lonsdale Quay.

Look for the giant building with “The Shipyards” written in large white letters on the roof and the popular Tap & Barrel restaurant inside. Shipbuilders’ Square is on the other side of the building.

If coming from downtown Vancouver or anywhere by SkyTrain, the easiest way to get to Lonsdale Quay and Shipbuilders’ Square by public transit is via the SeaBus from Vancouver’s Waterfront Station.

If coming by car, Shipbuilders’ Square is in North Vancouver at the very bottom of Lonsdale Avenue. It’s on the waterfront side of the large white Pinnacle Hotel.
