The Strathcona Blocks Party is a street festival in Vancouver with live music, food trucks, kids’ activities, local shopping and more.
This year the event takes place on July 25th. That’s the same weekend as the Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival, Chilliwack Ribfest, Chiquitzin Kids Fiesta in Richmond, and TCC Community Days at the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Vancouver. All four of these other events are also lots of fun and include free activities.
To lean about other events happening around the same time, see our July Calendar of Events. To learn about the Strathcona Blocks Party, however, then continue reading.
Strathcona Blocks Party
The Strathcona Blocks Party returns for its fifth year in 2026 to celebrate one of Vancouver’s oldest and most vibrant neighbourhoods. The popular family-friendly event brings together locals and visitors for a day of fun. The party also features a beer garden with mini golf, a creative zone, craft stations and a reading nook, plus a pop-up market showcasing local vendors and shops. The event is free to attend and pets are welcome.
Where and When
The Strathcona Blocks Party takes place along the 800 block of East Hastings Street in Vancouver. In 2026 it happens on Saturday, July 25th, which is six weeks later than the year before. The event runs from 12:00 until 5:00 pm.
Las year most of the activities at the event ran from noon until 5:00 pm. This included the food trucks and activities like face painting, balloon art, sidewalk chalk and games. Last year visitors could also enjoy drinks and mini golf at the Strathcona Beer Garden at 895 East Hastings from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Whether there is a beer garden in 2026, and its times, are to be confirmed.
Last year the Learning & Exploring Zone on Campbell Avenue offered interactive experiences with musical instruments, arts and crafts activities, a reading nook and pop-up market. There was also a Blocks Party Passport available at 800 East Hastings where visitors could collect stickers from local businesses. If you collected six or more, you could have entered to win a prize at the Info Booth. Exact details about what’s happening in 2026 are to be confirmed, but it will likely be very similar to last year.
The event will likely happen again in 2027. If it does, whether it happens in June or July, is to be determined.
