Coast City Country

The Coast City Country Festival is a new live music event at BC Place Stadium and the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver.

The festival includes concerts, street parties and other events. In 2024 it takes place from April 18th to 20th. That’s the same weekend as the Trail of Coffee event, Food Truck Wars and Brewhalla Beer & Music Festival (all of which are highly recommended).

Other major music festivals in 2024 include the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Fort Langley Jazz Festival and Vancouver Folk Music Festival, plus lots of other great music festivals too. For Country music fans, the big event to look forward to is the Cloverdale Rodeo which takes place on May 17th to 20th in 2024. Upcoming Tribute Band Concerts include Queen: It’s a Kinda Magic and the Michael Jackson History Show (both of which happen in June and will be amazing).

The Coast City Country Festival

New for 2024, the Coast City Country Festival features three days of live music and other activities in Vancouver. There are more than two dozen artists performing at various venues. Headliners include Nickelback, Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley at BC Place. Other activities to enjoy throughout the festival include street parties, late-night shows and a beer and whiskey festival.

Not only is the festival full of entertainment, but it’s also a good way to support a worthwhile cause. A portion of ticket sales are donated to BC wildfire relief funds in the province.

CLOVERDALE RODEO

If you like Country music, you’ll also want to check out the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair. It takes place on the Victoria Day Long Weekend of May 17th to 20th. Headliners performing at the rodeo include the Chris Buck Band and 54-40. Other artists are Apaloosa, the Dave Hartney Band, Annika & the Earthlings, Antonio Larosa, the Lawless Band and many others including The Spirit of Shania which is a Shania Twain tribute band).

When and Where

in 2024 the inaugural Coast City Country Festival runs from Thursday, April 18th, until Saturday, April 20th.

Headliners perform at BC Place Stadium on the Friday and Saturday starting at 3:00 pm. The big venue is located at 777 Pacific Boulevard in downtown Vancouver not far from False Creek. There are also performances at the Commodore Ballroom on all three days of the festival. The iconic nightclub is located at 868 Granville Street. All events at both venues are for adults ages 19+. There’s a Kick-Off Party at the Commodore on the Thursday at 7:00 pm, and then more shows there on the Friday and Saturday starting at 10:00 pm.

Over two dozen artists perform at the two main venues in 2024. Close to twenty artists perform at BC Place across two days. Meanwhile, the Commodore Ballroom features close to ten artists over three days.

QUEEN TRIBUTE CONCERTS IN BC

Queen: It’s a Kinda Magic is an amazing show that recreates a concert from Queen and Eddie Mercury’s 1986 Magic World Tour. In 2024, the tribute band is in Chilliwack on June 12th, Coquitlam on June 13th and Richmond on June 15th. They also have concerts in Victoria, Nanaimo and elsewhere in BC in the same month. MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE CONCERT

The Michael Jackson History Tour is a tribute to the King of Pop. It’s on a tour around the world which includes stops in Victoria (June 20th), Chilliwack (June 26th), West Vancouver (June 27th) and five other BC communities. For details, see the website mjhistoryshow.com.

Festival Ticket Prices

There are different types of passes available for the concerts at BC Place Stadium. Floor seats for each day start at $225 per person. Those seats offer the closest views to the stage. Reserved seating, meanwhile, starts at $69 per person.

Packages for both days of BC Place shows are also available. Two-day floor seats start at $449 per person, whereas two-day regular seats start at $79. There are three different types of VIP passes on sale as well, varying from $799 up to $1,299. Perks for VIP pass holders include express entry on both days as well as posters, hats, and access to the pit, private lounge and VIP bar.

General admission tickets to the Commodore Ballroom shows vary depending on the day. Tickets start at $75 on the Thursday, and then $65 for the Friday and $65 for the Saturday.
