The Cultus Lake Marina makes visiting popular Cultus Lake even more fun with a variety of watersports rentals like jet skis, boats, parasailing and more.
We’ve done parasailing and jet skiing (a.k.a. Sea-Dooing) from the marina and both were a blast. If you get a chance to do either or both of these activities, we recommend you do. The parasailing was fun and relaxing, and the views from up high were amazing. Jet skiing, meanwhile, was so exciting, fast and thrilling. We can’t wait to do it again!
Cultus Lake Marina
Cultus Lake is one of the busiest spots in BC when the weather is warm. There is plenty to do in the area during the summer, including the Cultus Lake Waterpark, Cultus Lake Adventure Park, and of course the lake itself.
For those who want to spend their time at the lake, Cultus Lake Marina offers the chance to enjoy some exciting watersports. The marina has rentals of all kinds, from standard equipment like motorboats and tubes to more unique activities like hydroflights.
Interestingly, this isn’t the only Cultus Lake Marina in the Pacific Northwest! There’s also a lake (and associated marina) with the same name in Bend, Oregon. If you’re making an online reservation make sure it’s on cultuslakemarina.com and not on the wrong website! Other than having the same name, the two marinas are totally unrelated.
Where is the Marina?
Cultus Lake Marina is located at 50 Sunnyside Boulevard, on the north end of Cultus Lake (which is the same side as the Waterpark and Adventure Park).
The lake is about a two-hour drive from downtown Vancouver. The location makes the area a great place for a Day Trip during the summer.
The marina is open daily from May 1st to September 15th in 2024. It opens at 10:00 am on weekdays and 8:00 am on weekends and holidays. The marina closes about an hour or so before sunset during the warm season, so between 7:30 and 9:00 pm depending on the day.
During the “offseason” from mid-September to April, the marina is open Thursdays to Mondays from 10:00 am until sometime around 4:30 to 6:00 pm (depending on the weather that day).
Rental Options and Prices
There are a variety of watersport options available for rent at the marina. All of the equipment is rented in one-hour increments, with the exception of the jet skis which can be rented for half an hour at a time. There is about a 10% to 20% early bird discount on most activities done during the first hour of the day. All prices listed below are as of the summer of 2024.
The jet skis can be rented for up to two hours. Depending on the model and what day of the week it is, they cost $60 to $90 for half an hour, $100 to $175 for an hour, and $175 to $225 for two hours.
Motorboats and pontoons can be rented for up to four hours. They range from $100 for the first hour for a six-person motorboat on a weekend, to $450 for the first hour for a 16-person pontoon. Additional hours cost slightly less than the first one.
The hydroflight is a one or two-person experience where riders use extremely fast jets of water to fly five or more feet in the air above the lake. It’s like a water jetpack! This activity costs around $200 an hour. One or two people can do the activity at the same time, and up to three people can share the one-hour session.
Finally, there’s also parasailing which is capped at an hour (including the set up and training before the flight begins). Participants fly up to 500 feet in the air as they’re dragged behind a motorboat steered by a trained captain. This adventure costs between $80 and $179 per person depending on the day, time and size of the group going out.
Extra items like tubes, water skis and wakeboards are available to rent as well. They cost about $20 to $30 an hour each.
The marina recommends that guests make reservations in advance on their website. Walk-in customers are accepted but aren’t guaranteed to get the gear they want.
CHILLIWACK CORN MAZE
While you’re in the area, another place you might want to visit is the Chilliwack Corn Maze. It’s a world-famous attraction at family-friendly Greendale Acres in Chilliwack. At the farm they have a giant jumping pillow and other play apparatus as well as farm animals and the maze.
Other Marina Offerings
The Cultus Lake Marina does sell some gear as well. You can’t purchase a boat there, but you can buy items like boards and water skis.
Food and drinks are available at Props Cafe right next to the water. The cafe is newly-renovated in 2024 with more food options than it used to have before. We’ve had the Maui Waui Burger, brocoli salad, corn on the cob and their ice cream and all were delicious.
