Richmond’s Savage Creek Golf Facility

Savage Creek is a wonderful place to golf, improve at the game and have fun with family and friends. It’s a popular place for golfers of all skill-levels. The large facility in Richmond features a driving range, a mini golf course, a 16-hole executive course and more. Continue reading for details about what Savage Creek has to offer.

The Executive Course

Savage Creek’s golf course opened to the public in September of 2018. The course has a total of 16 holes which immediately sets it apart from other courses in Metro Vancouver. It’s long enough to satisfy golfers but also short enough to squeeze into everyone’s schedules.

The course is a par 58 made up of seven par 3’s, eight par 4’s and one par 5. There are three sets of tee boxes per hole. Savage Creek plays 3644 yards from the blue tees, 3323 yards from the white tees and 3119 yards from the red tees.

The total yardages aren’t long, but the course has a challenging layout. There are a few dog-leg holes with hidden greens that provide opportunities for risky tee shots and possible eagle putts. Some water hazards and sand traps are also hidden by bends, hills and rocks. Each hole’s tee box has a large diagram so golfers can plan their shots strategically. The course is well-maintained and picturesque with interesting water features and distant views of Metro Vancouver.

Driving Range

The full-sized driving range at Savage Creek is impressive. It has 60 covered stalls distributed over two floors. The range is noticeably large and spacious. Each stall has a table, chairs and more than enough room for bags. There are no worries of being too close to anyone either, so golfers can just swing away. Stalls at Savage Creek’s driving range are first come, first serve, though there are usually enough to accommodate everyone or require short wait times.

Mini Meadows

Mini Meadows is the name of Savage Creek’s miniature golf course. It has 18 holes and includes two different sets of pars on the scorecard. Beginners can play it as a par 63. More experienced players have the option of challenging themselves and playing it as a par 52. Unlike other mini golf courses in the Lower Mainland, Mini Meadows is made of real grass. There are no bricks stopping your ball from going off the green. There aren’t any carnival-style obstacles either. Instead, the greens are winding and surrounded by thicker and taller grass, or rough, which is similar to real courses. This makes for good putting practice and a unique experience that’s enjoyable for all ages.
