BC Culture Days runs from September 19th to October 12th in 2025.
BC Culture Days in the Lower Mainland
This year there are six culture ambassadors, including two from Metro Vancouver: Jacki Gunn and Ashleigh Giffen.
The ambassadors came from across the province and represented a range of different backgrounds, cultures and areas of professional expertise. Below are details on each of the 2025 ambassadors.
- Jacki Gunn – an actor and improviser in Burnaby Heights. She performs on stage and screen and creates original work that reflects her queer, neurodiverse perspective.
- Lauren Aldred – a poet and painter who lives in Fort St. James. Her creative work is inspired by her deep connection to the Land and focuses on healing and self-expression.
- Ashleigh Giffen – a mixed Oji-Cree multi-disciplinary artist living in Vancouver. She explores Indigenous storytelling and futurisms through poetry, theatre, collage and film.
- Lore Andrea – a Chilean actor and theatre artist based in Victoria. She works with mask, puppetry and physical theatre to create playful and visually expressive performances.
- Amy Braun – a multidisciplinary artist from Valemount and a proud CODA (Child of Deaf Adults). Her work combines music, storytelling and visual arts to explore themes of identity and belonging.
- Anna Bigland-Pritchard – a singer and songwriter based in Victoria. She blends classical music, indie-folk, and expressive arts to support connection, care, and community through her work.
