Vancouver’s Brazilian Carnaval
The Brazilian Carnaval is an event showcasing Brazilian culture in Vancouver. It features live music and activities in Gastown.
As many as 15,000 Brazilians live in British Columbia, many of them in Metro Vancouver. The Brazilian Carnaval is hosted by Latincouver which is an organization that brings together Latin Americans and fans of the culture. Latincouver is also behind Carnaval del Sol in the summer and Latin American Heritage Month in the fall.

When and Where
In 2026 the Brazilian Carnaval happens on Saturday, February 21st. Full details about what’s happening and the event’s location, however, are to be confirmed as of the last time we checked.
Last year the Latin festival took place around the same time, but as a two-day event. The year before it took place on Granville Island. Last year’s event happened at the Latincouver building in Gastown. There was a Brazilian Carnaval Night Party for adults and a Brazilian Family Carnaval for kids and their parents.
Two different events happened in 2025 (and 2026 may or may not be the same). The first event was a family-friendly event during the day with live entertainment, face painting, train rides, a costume contest and more. The second event was a party for adults at night. At the second event a variety of artists hit the stage to perform lively rhythms of Samba, Frevo, Axé and more.
Last year the Brazilian Carnaval took place on February 21st and 22nd. The family-friendly event ran from noon until 5:00 pm on the Saturday. The party for adults was going to be after that on the same day, from 7:00 pm until around 3:00 am. That got changed at the last minute, however. Instead it happened at the Pearl nightclub on the Friday starting at 10:00 pm.
The family-friendly event last year was at the Latincouver Cultural & Business Society building, located at 68 Water Street (Unit #301) in Gastown. The address for the Pearl is 881 Granville Street. Where the event or events take place in 2026 is to be confirmed.
Admission Prices
Admission prices to each event vary depending on when you buy your tickets. The earlier you purchase your tickets, the more money you usually save.
In 2025, for the daytime event, up to two adults got in for free with each child. Tickets for families with one child cost around $15, tickets for families with two children cost about $25, and tickets for families with three children cost about $35. Meanwhile, the night party cost about $25 per person.
Ticket prices for the event in 2026 are to be confirmed.

Brazilian Carnaval Featured Artists
