Central City is a shopping mall located in the middle of Surrey, close to both Holland Park and Surrey City Hall Plaza. It has over 140 stores and over 27 restaurants.
The shopping centre building complex is also home to Simon Fraser University’s Surrey campus, as well as a large office tower.
Central City Mall in Surrey
The mall at Central City isn’t huge, but features major retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, Winners and more. The building’s design is interesting since it houses stores, offices and a university campus. This generates a rather unique atmosphere and differentiates it from most other malls in the Lower Mainland.
Mall Hours
The shopping centre is typically open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays. It is open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Sunday hours are from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Central City Location
Central City’s address is 10153 King George Boulevard. It is across the street from Holland Park, and only one block away from Surrey’s City Hall and Public Library.
There are tons of free parking spaces on the property, including both outdoor and underground lots.
Surrey Central Bus Loop and SkyTrain Station are just outside the building, which makes transiting to and from the mall very easy.
Central City Stores
This shopping centre is much smaller in size compared to Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby, or even Surrey’s Guildford Town Centre. However, having fewer stores does come with some benefits. Central City is noticeably less busy than the aforementioned malls. This means that finding parking or even a particular item to purchase may be faster than at other places.
Central City’s large anchor stores include Walmart, Best Buy, Winners, The Brick, and T&T Supermarket (which is a large, interesting Chinese/Asian-influenced grocery store). Other stores worth noting include Urban Planet, Soccerplus and Craving for a Game. Craving for a Game is especially interesting. It offers a large selection of non-electronic games in addition to a play area where you can try out hundreds of products. The mall also features a Club 16 Trevor Linden Fitness.
There are quite a lot of places to eat at within the mall. The food court has an A&W, Freshslice Pizza, Quesada, Thai Express and more. The mall also has a Starbucks and Tim Hortons, along with Boston Pizza, Ricky’s Restaurant and Neptune Seafood Restaurant. Central City Brew Pub is located on the northeast side of the mall too.
SFU at Central City
Surrey’s Simon Fraser University campus is located on the second floor of the building and can primarily be accessed from the north plaza. The building’s award-winning architecture features a loop that overlooks the mall. Over 8,000 students attend classes here and likely find it convenient to fulfill educational, shopping and food needs all in one building.
