Cloverdale Rodeo Details
The Cloverdale Rodeo runs the entire May long weekend, with show times once per day and twice on the Saturday.
Rodeo performances take place at the following times in 2026 (with exact details subject to change):
- Friday, May 15th – at 7:30 pm (POOL A)
- Saturday, May 16th – at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm (POOL A then B)
- Sunday, May 17th – at 2:00 pm (POOL B)
- Monday, May 18th – at 2:00 pm (Finals)
Rodeo events most years include bareback riding, ladies barrel racing, bronco riding, bull riding and mutton busting. There is also a clown act.
What is mutton busting? It involves children 3 years and older, but under around 45 pounds, where the little ones try their hardest to hang on and ride a sheep for as long as they can. Fortunately, during the mutton busting, the kids wear helmets and parents can’t volunteer their children at the last minute. If you are crazy enough to want your child to ride a sheep, you have to apply in advance, and, for obvious reasons, sign a waiver.
TIP: The rodeo competition on the Monday is usually the most interesting, as it’s the finals. Tickets that day can sell out well in advance, however, so, if you want to go, book extra early.
Rodeo Admission Prices
At the Cloverdale Country Fair there is a cost to enter the fairgrounds, plus an extra charge to see the rodeo. It’s definitely worth paying for.
In 2026 it costs up to $30 for people ages 13+ to see one of the rodeo shows, in addition to their fairgrounds admission. Children (ages 3 to 12) cost up to about $14 and little kids (ages 0 to 2) enter for free.
TIP: We recommend buying your tickets in advance online. Not only will you save a couple of dollars, but you’ll skip the main lineups at the entrance and avoid being disappointed when the rodeo sells out (which it often does).
See the Cloverdale Rodeo‘s website for tickets and more information.

Cloverdale Rodeo Parade
The Cloverdale Rodeo Parade takes place on the Saturday of the May long weekend and starts at 10:00 am.
From start to finish, the parade usually lasts for up to about two hours. It’s a great parade with lots of horses, marching bands, antique vehicles and a cowboy theme.
There are prizes for top parade entries in a number of categories. Categories usually include non-profit and commercial floats, junior and senior bands, junior and senior marching units, wheeled entries, antiques, comic entries, mounted drill teams, wheeled horse entries, and dance groups.
Cloverdale Parade Route
The Cloverdale Rodeo Parade in 2025 began in the Cloverdale Town Centre at the intersection of Highway #10 (a.k.a. 56th Avenue) and 177B Street. It headed west along Highway #10 to 176th Street. From there the procession went north to 58th Avenue and then east until 177B Street.
In previous years the route was a little longer. Instead of heading north until 58th Avenue, it used to go all the way to 60th Avenue.
TIP #1: Arrive early to get a good spot where you can watch the parade.
TIP #2: If you plan to go to the fair after the parade, consider watching from somewhere near the start. That way, when you see the end of the parade, you can race to the fair before the crowds (assuming you can walk faster than the parade).
See the Cloverdale Rodeo Website for more information about the parade.
