Hosted by the same organization as Vancouver’s Carnaval del Sol, Carnavalito on the Road event is a newer Latin festival in both Langley and Surrey.
The event is a travelling version of Carnaval del Sol, which is Vancouver’s massive Latin festival in July. Carnavalito on the Road celebrates Latin American culture with music, dance, food, vendors and family-friendly activities.
Carnavalito on the Road celebrates its third year in 2026. In its first two years it took place at Douglas Park in Langley in July and then August. In 2026, however, it takes place in both Langley (but at a different park) and in Surrey. The Langley event takes place in September this time, but the new Surrey event happens on June 27th.
Keep reading below for information about both events. For the event’s official website, visit latincouver.ca.

Carnavalito on the Road
The Carnavalito on the Road is a free, one-day celebration of Latin culture. Carnavalito means “little carnival” in Spanish. The event is named after the Carnaval del Sol festival in July, an offshoot of the festival.
Carnavalito on the Road returns in 2026 with events in two cities. One takes place in Surrey, and the other is in Langley.

Where is the Carnavalito?
Carnavalito on the Road takes place in two cities this year. One event takes place in June, and the other in September.
Carnavalito in Surrey
The Surrey event takes place first, on Saturday, June 27th. Festivities run from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Bear Creek Park. The park’s address is 13750 88 Avenue in Surrey.
The event features Latin music, dancing, food, vendors and family-friendly cultural activities. There is also a Main Stage, a Family & Kids Plaza, and a Beer Plaza for adults.
Carnavalito in Langley
In 2026 the Langley event happens later, on Sunday, September 6th. In previous years it took place at Douglas Park. This year, however, the event likely happens at Royal Coin Park, although exact details are to be confirmed.

The Carnavalito Plazas
Similar to Carnaval del Sol in Vancouver in the summer, Carnavalito’s event grounds consist of various plazas. There aren’t as many of them as there are at Carnaval del Sol, but there are usually still around half a dozen or so to explore.
The biggest areas at the event are the Main Plaza and the Family & Kids Plaza. They feature music, dancing and other fun activities. The She Latina Plaza is a vibrant space that empowers women. There are female business owners, creatives and other leaders to meet and listen to.
The Food Plaza and Beer Plaza are the places to go for refreshments. There are various food vendors and several drink vendors selling both beer and cocktails. Finally, the Artisan Plaza features a Latin market and opportunities to experience art and culture.
Visit the Carnavalito on the Road website for full details about the event.
