Surrey Latin Festival

The Surrey Latin Festival is an annual summer event with live entertainment, Latin food, a beer garden, and more in Surrey Civic Plaza. Admission is free.

The festival last ran on August 9th and 10th in 2025. It doesn’t appear to have happened in 2026. Whether it does or not in the future is to be determined. The last time we checked, however, its website no longer existed, which suggests that it might not.

The event typically celebrates Latin American culture with food, music and art for everyone to enjoy.

Latin Festival at Surrey Civic Plaza

The Surrey Latin Festival is a fun celebration of Latin culture in the City of Surrey. The festival first happened in 2018 and is free to attend. It is organized by women and provides an inclusive and multicultural space for artistic expression and socializing.

The festival usually happens at an outdoor venue in the middle of summer. There is a different theme for the festivities each year. Activities to enjoy at the event usually include live music, dance performances, Latin cuisine, crafts and a beer garden. There are always lots of family-friendly things to see and do.

When and Where?

Last year’s festival ran on the Saturday and Sunday of August 9th and 10th. Festivities took place from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm on both days. The venue for the event is at Surrey Civic Plaza at 13450 104th Avenue. The plaza is a public square outside Surrey City Hall and just a block away from the Surrey Central SkyTrain station.

Festival Program

When it happened in 2024, the Surrey Latin Festival theme was Con Aroma A Cafe (which meant “With a Coffee Aroma”). As one might expect, there were a number of coffee vendors on site that year. In 2025 the theme was Cumbia: Una Fiesta Sin Fronteras (which means Cumbia: A Party Without Borders in English). Cumbia, meanwhile, is a type of dance music originating from Colombia.

In years when it did happen, the event featured a variety of musical artists as well as artisan vendors and food trucks serving traditional Latin food and sweet treats. There was also a Kids’ Plaza with photo opportunities and roaming characters in costume, along with a face painting station, dance classes and more.

Both days featured a full slate of perfornances throughout. 2024’s schedule of events was as follows (and the 2025 lineup was likely comparable):
