Strathcona Blocks Party in 2026
The Strathcona Blocks Party returns for its 5th year, transforming the neighbourhood into a lively community gathering filled with local flavour, creativity, and fun. Join in on the fun with activities hosted by Strathcona businesses, enjoy live music and entertainment, meet local artists and makers, and experience everything that makes Strathcona one of Vancouver’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.
Where and When
This year, the Strathcona Blocks Party takes place on Saturday, July 25th, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with the festivities continuing into the evening as Strathcona Beer Company celebrates its 10th anniversary with live DJ entertainment and Beer Garden open from noon until 8:00pm.
The Blocks Party spans the 600–900 blocks of East Hastings Street, just a few blocks east of Chinatown. Once you’ve explored the Strathcona Blocks Party, the fun doesn’t stop there. Head over to the Eastside Arts Festival at MacLean Park, where celebrations continue until 8:00 pm the same day. (Note: MacLean Park is just a few blocks away, at 710 Keefer Street.)

What to Expect at the Blocks Party
The Strathcona Blocks Party features an afternoon of community fun with live music, performances, food trucks and kid-friendly activities. Admission is free!
The centre of the action is in the parking lot at 840 East Hastings Street with live performances happening all day long. The beer garden is hosted by the Strathcona Beer Company which is located at 895 East Hastings Street. The beer garden features Strathcona Beer’s famous craft brews, a summertime barbecue menu, live DJ entertainment, and lots of fun games such as giant Twister! Other confirmed food vendors at the event in 2026 include Nami Vietnamese, JAPADOG, and REEL Mac & Cheese.
At the block party there is a Kids Zone on Campbell Avenue where you’ll find family-friendly activities including arts & crafts, musical instruments to play, large building blocks, and a community mural you can contribute too. 873 East Hastings Street hosts a pop-up market with lots of local goodies and treasures. Back by popular demand is the passport scavenger hunt involving participating Strathcona businesses where once completed, participants may redeem a free ice-cream voucher from Lucy’s Frozen Custard or HYPE Chocolate (while supplies last, so be there early!).

Performers and Schedule in 2026
The Strathcona Blocks Party features live music and other performances throughout the afternoon. The lineup brings a mix of local talent and vibrant sounds to the neighbourhood. Performing at the event last year and back again in 2026 are the Marlin Ramazzini Band and Slow Sippers Band. Other groups are there too.

What is Strathcona
Strathcona is an older, primarily residential neighbourhood in East Vancouver. It’s bordered more or less by East Hastings Street to the north, Great Northern Way to the south, Main Street to the west, and Clark Drive to the east. In other words, Strathcona is the area east of Chinatown and False Creek, south of East Hastings and the core of the Downtown Eastside, west of Grandview-Woodland, and north of Mount Pleasant.
