World of Love Multicultural Carnival at Town Centre Park in Coquitlam
The World of Love Multicultural Carnival is an annual event hosted by the North America Chinese Culture Promotion Society. It’s a celebration of diverse cultures and traditions, featuring more than 250 performers. The carnival is a fun way to learn about different heritages. Although there are no amusement rides, there are lots of games and other family-friendly activities at the event. Admission is free.

When and Where?
In 2025, the fourth annual World of Love Multicultural Carnival ran from Friday, October 3rd, to Sunday, October 5th. Whether the carnival happens in 2026 is yet to be confirmed.
Last year’s carnival took place over three days at various locations. Performance locations included the UBC Theatre at 6133 University Boulevard, the Aberdeen Centre at 4151 Hazelbridge Way, and the River Rock Theatre, located at 8811 River Road. On Friday, the event ran from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Saturday’s festivities ran from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and Sunday’s ran from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Prior years had a slightly different structure. The 2024 carnival took place on Saturday, August 24th, for one day only, and it was outdoors. The festivities began at 10:00 am and ran until 8:00 pm. The 2024 event took place at Town Centre Park, located at 1299 Pinetree Way in Coquitlam.

What to Expect
The World of Love Multicultural Carnival is a diverse cultural celebration. Expect to see friends and families of all ages enjoying the festivities.
Live entertainment is a major part of the event. There are usually over 250 performers, including singers, dancers and musicians. There are artisan vendors and booths from local community organizations. Food trucks are on site selling barbequed meat, noodles and other ethnic cuisines.
The event usually features a number of interactive activities. For example, there are traditional Chinese costumes to admire and try on. Attendees get to try sugar painting and create their own lanterns. There are paper-cutting and Chinese calligraphy demonstrations, as well as an exhibition featuring paintings and photographs. Other event highlights include a tea ceremony, face-painting opportunities, and the beautiful Nanjing Qinhuai Lantern Show.
