Vancouver Weirdos Holiday Market in June and at Christmas

The Weirdening Market

The Weirdos Market features unique and out-of-the-ordinary products that you can’t find at traditional artisan craft fairs in Vancouver.

The Weirdos Holiday Market takes place in December, during the Christmas shopping season. New for 2025, there is also the Weirdening which takes place on Sunday, June 8th, in Vancouver.

THE WEIRDENING MARKET ON JUNE 8TH

The Weirdening is a special artisan market celebrating art, joy, weirdness and community. The event is part artisan market, part party and part chaos. It’ll be a bit like the Weirdos Holiday Market, full of Weirdos magic and wonderful products, but with a springtime theme.

The Weirdening takes place on Sunday, June 8th, from noon until 7:00 pm. It happens at The Birdhouse which is an arts and events venue located at 44 West 4th Avenue in Vancouver. It’s just a few blocks south of Olympic Village, about a 15-minute walk from Science World and the Main Street-Science World Skytrain Station.

Admission to the Weirdening market costs $2 if you arrive within the first couple of hours (i.e., before 2:00 pm). After that, it’s $5. All are welcome, including friendly dogs when on leash and accompanied by their owners.

In addition to market vendors selling all kinds of strange, weird and wonderful things, there are games, DJ music, and other entertainment (including a sword swallower)! Food vendors on site include Midnight Joe’s Food Truck and Punk Rock Pastries.

Admission can be purchased at the door on the day.

For further details, see the Weirdos Market‘s Facebook page. For a video of what the Weirdos Holiday Market looks like in December, see below.

Words used to describe the Weirdos Holiday Market and the products its vendors sell include creative, eclectic, eccentric, unique, weird and wonderful. Items you’ll find include special gems, natural health products, remedies, books, jewellery, greeting cards, and items made out of old toys and bones.

Expect to see a mix of alternative, Goth, New Age, and just plain funky. Some vendor stalls wouldn’t seem out of place at a regular artisan market or craft fair. Others, though, definitely would.

Where Does the Holiday Market Happen?

A number of years ago the market took place in Venables Hall at the Britannia Community Services Centre. Since 2022, however, the Weirdos Holiday Market in December has been at the Russian Hall at 600 Campbell Avenue in Vancouver.

Dates, Hours and Admission

The 2024 Weirdos Holiday Market took place on the Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays of December 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th and 15th. Its hours of operation on the Fridays were from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
