Ukulele music fills the air at the Fort Langley International Ukulele Festival, a joyful celebration of aloha spirit, cultural connection and community harmony.
In 2026 the festival happens on September 24th to 26th.
The main venue for the festival is Fort Langley National Historic Site. Other events that happen at the fort and surrounding area in the fall include James Douglas: A Multicultural Legacy (in late September), the Fort Langley Cranberry Festival (on the Thanksgiving weekend), and Grave Tales (during the Halloween season).
See the Parks Canada website to learn more about the fort. Visit the Fort Langley website or continue reading below to learn about the music festival.
Fort Langley International Ukulele Festival
The historic Village of Fort Langley comes alive with music during the Fort Langley International Ukulele Festival in September 2026.
Hosted by Parks Canada and the Langley Ukulele Association, the event blends live performances and workshops with the spirit of Hawaiian and Pacific Northwest cultures.
More than a music festival, it is also a cultural celebration with deep historical ties. Fort Langley’s legacy as a Hudson’s Bay Company post includes a strong connection to Hawaiian heritage, making it the perfect setting for this musical gathering.
Note: This isn’t the only time that music takes place at the fort. There is live music at other times too. In the village (not the fort), there is also the Fort Langley Jazz Festival which runs from July 23rd to 26th in 2026. Also, another event at the fort with a Polynesian theme, the Hawaiian Luau happens earlier in the year.

Where and When is the Ukulele Festival?
In 2026 the Fort Langley International Ukulele Festival runs from Thursday, September 24th to Saturday, September 26th. Events take place at Fort Langley National Historic Site and throughout the surrounding village. The fort’s address is 23433 Mavis Avenue. Regular admission to the historic site applies, but youth aged 17 and under get in for free.
What to Expect
A highlight of the festival is the series of outdoor concerts which features top ukulele performers from Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest. The lineup in the past has included Craig Chee, Sarah Maisel, Bryan Tolentino, and Andrew & Jay Molina. Leading the festival jams is Lendl San Jose (a.k.a. Ukulenny).
There are performances from the Langley Ukulele Ensemble and hula dancers as well as jam sessions and open mic opportunities throughout the day. Visitors can also explore historic exhibits that showcase the fort’s connection to Hawaiian settlers.
For ukulele enthusiasts, the festival offers over 30 workshops ranging from beginner strumming to advanced performance techniques. Many performers will also lead these sessions and offer visitors an opportunity to learn directly from experienced musicians.
