Abbotsford Tulip Festival

Lakeland Flowers in Spring & Early Summer

The Abbotsford Tulip Festival is a famous flower festival. It runs from around mid-April until early May. It’s an impressive event featuring millions of beautiful tulips of every colour. There are other flowers for the public to enjoy at the farm too, however, up until July 1st, which is Canada Day.

After the tulip season finishes, unlike other flower festivals in the Vancouver region, Lakeland Flowers remains open. The tulips might be gone, but other flowers are just beginning. Starting in early May there are fields full of peonies. A few weeks later, throughout most of the month of June, there are fields of lavender.

What to See at Lakeland Flowers

In 2026 Lakeland Flowers is open daily between April 13th and July 1st from 6:00 am until 8:30 pm.

This year the Abbotsford Tulip Festival runs from April 13th until May 3rd (although it could get extended slightly, depending on this year’s weather and growing season). Between these dates the farm is full of spectacular colours, where acres upon acres of the land are covered with rows of beautiful tulips. People come from all over the region to see them.

Starting in mid-May, after the tulip festival ends, there are up to ten acres of lupins at Lakeland Flowers. Beginning at around the same time, there are over a hundred different types of peonies too. The farm is also usually home to a dozen acres of golden yellow collards and half a dozen acres of white buckwheat. The fields of Lavender, meanwhile, bloom in June.

In 2026 a number of special events take place at the farm in the spring. On Thursdays between 6:00 and 7:30 pm, for example, pianist Brenda Cottrill is on site. She plays a range of genres, from jazz to gospel, pop and classics. On Friday, April 17th, meanwhile, artist Olivia Harks is at the farm. On Saturday, May 3rd, there is also an artist. This time it’s Julia Carabetta who specializes in landscapes.

How Much Does it Cost?

2026 prices hadn’t yet been posted as of the last time we checked. Last year, however, during the Abbotsford Tulip Festival, admission to Lakeland Flowers cost between $8 and $12 on weekdays, with the price depending on where and when you bought your tickets. Online tickets were the least expensive. Buying your ticket at the gate on the day cost the most. Admission on weekends last year, meanwhile, cost between $16 and $24.

Also last year, admission to the farm after the tulip festival, so during the “Abbotsford Summer Flower Festival” which runs from May until July 1st, cost $6, or $16 if you also wanted to fly a drone. For that price you had access to the peony and lupine fields. Children shorter than 3 feet tall were free throughout the spring and early summer seasons.

2026 prices will likely be similar to the above, or slightly more, but with exact details to be confirmed. For the most up-to-date details, see the Lakeland Flowers website.
