Holiday Cheer at the Pier is a Christmas-themed community event with Santa and family-friendly activities at Port Moody’s Rocky Point Park in November.
It’s not a huge event, but it’s nice for local young families and people in the community. The event usually happens on the last Saturday of November.
Holiday Cheer at the Pier in Port Moody in 2025
Holiday Cheer at the Pier takes place on a Saturday during the Christmas season each year. It is a family-friendly Christmas celebration at Port Moody’s Rocky Point Park. The event features Santa, carollers, festive games and the lighting of the pier. It is a cheerful way to begin the holiday season.
In 2025, Holiday Cheer at the Pier takes place on Saturday, November 29th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Rocky Point Pier and Boat Launch (2800-block Murray Street, Port Moody). Admission is free and the event typically draws more than a thousand attendees from across the Tri-Cities.
What to Expect
The city’s Christmas celebrations include photo opportunities with Santa Claus, craft activities and roaming entertainment. Kids can write letters to Santa and people can also learn about the Port of Vancouver. There’s a bonfire to warm up next to as well.
Another highlight of Holiday Cheer at the Pier is the Christmas illuminations. The lights along the pier turn on for the season during the event. They look great when it’s dark out! The atmosphere is cosy and community-focused, perfect for young families and anyone looking for a small-town Christmas moment.
In past years, Santa’s Christmas Ships have joined the fun, with a parade of decorated boats cruising by between 6:00 and 7:00 pm, playing carols and spreading holiday cheer. Details for 2025 are still to be confirmed, but a similar lineup is expected.
Complimentary cookies (while supplies last) and hot chocolate by donation have also been part of the event in previous seasons.
Although Holiday Cheer at the Pier is free to attend, donations of unwrapped toys for the Port Moody Fire-Rescue’s Toy Drive are greatly appreciated. Toys donated at the event go to local families in need through SHARE Family & Community Services.
