
Party for the Planet is Metro Vancouver’s largest Earth Day event. It’s free and takes place on a Saturday in April outside Surrey City Hall.
In 2026 the event is on Saturday, April 25th. That’s the same weekend as Party in the Park which is a free event at Central Community Park in Chilliwack.

Party for the Planet Earth Day Celebrations in Surrey
At Party for the Planet there is a tree and plant sale and other vendor stalls, activities for children, free concerts and many ways to have fun while celebrating planet earth.
Party for the Planet is an exceptional event for families, with kids’ concerts as well as entertainment for adults.
It’s a fairly big event and one of the largest Earth Day celebrations in the Lower Mainland. In recent years up to around 20,000 people attend on the day.

Other events happening in Surrey include the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair on the Victoria Day Long Weekend and Canada Day celebrations on July 1st. This year, there are also special Surrey Soccer Fan Zones during the FIFA World Cup in June and July.
When and Where is Party for the Planet
The 15th edition of Party for the Planet runs on Saturday, April 25th in 2026. The event begins at 11:00 am and continues until 7:00 pm. It’s held at Surrey Civic Plaza at 13450-104th Avenue.
What to Expect at the Party
There are stalls selling things and promoting different community organizations and services. There are also live shows taking place throughout the day in different locations.
In 2026 there’s a climbing wall, a selection of food trucks, a sustainable marketplace and more. Attendees can expect to learn about Indigenous cultures and ways to be more energy-efficient. There are educational games with prizes to win too.
Party for the Planet also features the Surrey Parks’ plant sale. Plus, the first 750 people at the event receive free tomato plants.

Party for the Planet Entertainment
There are four stages at the 2026 Party for the Planet event.
The Earth and Meadow Stages offer live music, while the Community Stage features dance battles and lessons. The other stage is called the Family Stage and it includes programming by the Urban Safari Rescue Society and Science World.
As of mid-March, the 2026 entertainment lineup is to be confirmed. Performers last year included Annabella Egwalu, Colin Sankey, Higher Ground Dance Company, Jim Hopson Duo, Pat Calihou, Perelandra Waddle, Tess Anderson and many more.

Tips & Advice
Below are some suggestions to help you make the most of your experience at Surrey’s big April event.
TIP #1: Party for the Planet is an Earth Day celebration so leave the car at home and take public transit if you can. The planet will love you for it, plus roads will be busy and parking extremely limited.
TIP #2: Party for the Planet takes place on Saturday, April 26th, 2026, which is a week after Surrey’s largest event of the year – the Surrey Vaisakhi Parade. If you want free food and an incredible cultural experience, then check that out too.
