Vancouver’s Junction Public Market

Food at Junction Public Market

The Junction Public Market is a unique artisan market in Vancouver. There are vendors in shipping containers as well as food trucks, a bar and live music.

Last year was the market’s first year. It’s back again in 2025. This year it plans to run from the beginning of May until Christmas Eve. It’s an artisan market with food vendors, adult beverages and amazing views of Burrard Inlet and Canada Place.

Other events like this that you might be interested in include the Shipyards Night Market and White Rock Night Markets. The first of these takes place in North Vancouver on Fridays between mid-May and mid-September. The latter takes place on Fridays, also between May and September, but only once a month. There are lots of great farmers markets in the Lower Mainland too, including ones in West Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and all over the place.

Junction Public Market in Vancouver in 2025

This market is a unique place for shopping and eating in Vancouver. There are many Farmers Markets and other types of outdoor markets to explore in the city and across the Lower Mainland. What sets the Junction Public Market apart from the others is its theme and location.

Instead of using canopies, vendors at the Junction Public Market set up inside customized shipping containers. There are usually about 12 different merchandise and artisan vendors on site, plus or minus two or three. There are also food trucks selling snacks and meals.

Sticking with the shipping container theme, the Junction Public Market’s patio is called the Sipping Container. It’s a licensed area where adults can enjoy local beers, wines and cocktails. In addition to the shopping, eating and drinking, the market features a Music Box. It’s a stage with live entertainment at set times throughout the week.

Celebrating its second year in 2025, the Junction Public Market runs throughout the summer (and into the fall and early winter). It’s open to the public and there’s no cost to enter.

Dates and Location

In 2025 the market plans to run from May 1st until December 24th. It’ll operate on Tuesdays to Sundays between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm for most of that time. The market also likely happens on holiday Mondays in the summer, so on July 1st, August 4th and September 1st this year. There will also be a licensed patio in the summer, likely between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm each day.

The market sets up at Granville Square located at 200 Granville Street. It’s a great spot between Canada Place and Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver.

Last year the Junction Public Market ran from the end of June until September 29th. On the final weekend of the season there were Oktoberfest celebrations which were a ticketed event and cost between $12 and $15. The Oktoberfest celebrations were for adults only and included one beer ticket, plus access to live entertainment and food trucks serving European dishes. On all other dates access to the market was free.
