The Port Moody Farmers Market is a Metro Vancouver market at the Port Moody Recreation Complex on Sundays in winter and on Wednesdays in the summer.
Port Moody Winter Markets
The Port Moody Winter Farmers Market is a medium-sized market. It takes place both indoors and outdoors at the Port Moody Recreation Complex at 300 Ioco Road. In an average week there are between about 35 and 40 vendors (or at least that’s the case when they are allowed to operate at full capacity).
The market runs from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Sundays between November and April. It features a good variety of fresh produce vendors, artists and makers of homemade products.
The market’s 2023/2024 winter season runs from November 5th, 2023, until April 28th, 2024. It happens almost every week during that time, but not on December 25th or January 1st in years when those days fall on a Sunday.
Port Moody Summer Farmers Market
In addition to the winter market, Port Moody also has a summer market. It too happens at the Port Moody Recreation Complex at 300 Ioco Road. Whereas the winter event happens on Sundays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, the summer market takes place on Wednesdays between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm and runs from June to October.
What’s in the Area?
Port Moody is an attractive town with a number of places of interest.
Just behind the Port Moody Recreation Complex are great walking trails that lead to the water and then all the way to Rocky Point Park. If it’s a sunny day then definitely combine your trip to the market with a stroll through the park.
Also only about 20 minutes away by car is stunning Buntzen Lake. Both parks make fabulous spots for a picnic.
For more information, see the Port Moody Farmers Market website.
Another great place to find fresh produce and artisan products is the Coquitlam Farmers Market. It’s run by the same organizers and takes place at the Dogwood Pavilion at 624 Poirier Street in Coquitlam. The Coquitlam event operates on Sundays between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm from May until October.
