The largest Latin festival in the Pacific Northwest, Carnaval del Sol is Vancouver’s grandest Latin fiesta, as can be seen in the following video.

Carnaval del Sol is a free festival, usually on the second weekend in July. The event includes live music, art displays, a beer garden, kids’ activities and more. In 2024 it takes place on the weekend of July 5th to 7th.

The above video shows what you can expect at Carnaval del Sol. Photos in the video are from the festival in 2015. The background music is a song by Clemente Hechavarria performed by El Grupo Cubano “Brisas del Palmar” whose members are featured several times in the video.
