Easter at Stanley Park in Vancouver involves train rides through the forest, visits with the Easter Bunny and other kid-friendly activities.
The train normally happens during the Easter long weekend. Unfortunately, this event was cancelled in 2025. Whether or not the train returns in 2026 is to be determined.
Several other great Easter events are in the Fraser Valley. They include Easterfest at Taves Farm, Baby Animal Easter Days at Maan Farms, Petey’s Easter Eggstravaganza at Fantasy Farms, and the Easter Egg Hunt at Greendale Acres. All four of these events are highly recommended. Up the Sea-to-Sky Highway, there is also an Easter event at the Britannia Mine Museum. On Vancouver’s North Shore, meanwhile, some year there’s also Hoppy Heights at Capilano Suspension Bridge (although this too didn’t happen in 2025).
Easter Train at Stanley Park
The Stanley Park Railway is located in one of Vancouver’s most famous landmarks. There are rides in Stanley Park offered throughout much of the year. The train and its surroundings are often decorated for festive rides close to special occasions, making it fun to visit more than once.
For example, during the Halloween season, the railway transforms into the Halloween Ghost Train. Up until December, 2024, the train had a Christmas theme during the Stanley Park Bright Nights event. Since 2025, however, this Christmas train event has moved to Surrey’s Cloverdale Fairgrounds for the foreseeable future. After closing for most of the winter, the train usually reopens briefly in March or April with an Easter-themed experience. It also runs for much of the summer.
Stanley Park’s Easter Train is a hugely popular event. It only runs for a few days, though, so if you want to go you usually have to buy your tickets well in advance.
Sadly, the train has been closed since mid-December, 2024. Currently, there’s no timeline on when it might re-open.

Train Schedule and Admission
In 2024 the Stanley Park Railway Easter Train ran from March 29th to April 1st. That was the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the Easter long weekend. Rides operated from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm each day. The Easter long weekend is from April 3rd to 5th in 2026. It’s to be confirmed whether the train opens for the holiday this year.
Should it operate again, tickets to ride the train could cost around $9 for everyone ages 3 and above. Kids under the age of 3 ride for free. In the past, tickets were only available online and sold for specific timeslots.

What to Expect
When it runs, the Easter-themed train at Stanley Park is a fun celebration of the holiday. The ride through the forest is accompanied by Easter music and the railway goes through decorated structures. While on the train, you should be able to see bunnies and other friendly animals and characters. The ride itself lasts for about 15 minutes, and it’s usually a very popular attraction for families with young children.
There’s normally more to the event than just the train ride. In previous years, there was a fun Easter Egg Hunt. Unfortunately, the hunt hasn’t happened since 2022, but hopefully it returns in the future. There are still other extra activities available. The Easter Bunny is on-site for photos and to interact with guests. There are also displays in the plaza that are appropriate for the occasion.
Lastly, if you are feeling hungry there are usually food and beverages available for purchase at the attraction. In the past, the Bunny Hop Roadstop was on-site serving churros, cotton candy and pretzels. Options from other vendors have included coffee, tea, potato tornadoes, popcorn and more.
