Bright Walk in White Rock Christmas Lights Attraction

White Rock Festival of Lights

The Bright Walk in White Rock takes place along the White Rock waterfront. It features Christmas trees and thousands of festive lights and illuminations.

In 2025/2026, the light displays run from November 29th until January 18th. The season starts with an opening-night celebration on Saturday, November 29th. The event includes live entertainment, activities and a tree lighting ceremony at Memorial Park.

Bright Walk in White Rock

The City of White Rock runs and organizes Bright Walk, an impressive display of Christmas lights set against the beautiful coastline. The event was previously called the White Rock Festival of Lights.

For the 2025/2026 season, 50,000 lights illuminate Memorial Park and the waterfront area in White Rock. Highlights this year include a massive Christmas tree, the return of the LED light tunnel, and photo opportunities with displays around the park. The lights are on every evening until January 18th, 2026.

What to Expect

Bright Walk in White Rock begins with a free, family-friendly launch event. It takes place in Memorial Park on Saturday, November 29th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The evening features live music on a stage, activities for kids and festive characters to get photos with.

There’s a tree lighting ceremony with the mayor and council members at 5:00 pm. Families can meet Santa and take photos using their own cameras, write letters to Santa, and have their faces painted.

This year, there are live music performances of Christmas songs featuring The Dimes and Amanda Wood. Around Memorial Park, visitors can walk through the light tunnel and pose at illuminated frames and displays.

A Winter Craft Market takes place inside the White Rock Museum during the launch, featuring over 30 local makers selling their products. It’s a good spot to find small gifts and stocking stuffers while staying warm indoors.

The main light displays remain in place until January 18, 2026, so even after opening night you can stroll the waterfront, enjoy the installations and see the tree lit up above the beach.

Event History

The waterfront light display first appeared as the White Rock Festival of Lights in 2019 and has since become a popular Christmas attraction. The event continued to grow over the following years, with strong support from community partners and sponsors.

Since 2021, the City of White Rock has taken the lead in producing the event, now known as Bright Walk in White Rock. The focus remains on free, family-friendly activities, local entertainment and an accessible light display that brightens the waterfront area.
