Chilliwack’s Atchelitz Pioneer Village
The Atchelitz Pioneer Village is an antique set of buildings, engines and farming machinery. The Atchelitz Threshermen’s Association runs and maintains the attraction. The Association also offers guided tours whenever possible. The village is a neat place to explore, as the rustic structures can make visitors feel like they’re in a completely different time period.
The largest building on-site is the Pioneer building, which is a museum. It features displays of old furniture, along with a warehouse of vintage machines, household items and more. The range of equipment is extensive. Some pieces date back to over 100 years ago, while others were added in the late 1900s.
Some years the museum sometimes hosts special events like the Small Engine Show. That particular event features all sorts of different gas engines displayed outside the museum with things like pumps, mowers and antique vehicles. There’s also a model train display.

Where is the Village?
Atchelitz is a small community in Chilliwack. The address for Pioneer Village is 44146 Luckakuck Way. It’s just beside Chilliwack Heritage Park, which is home to the annual Chilliwack Fair & Rodeo and other seasonal events.
If driving from Vancouver or other regions west of Chilliwack, the route is simple. Take the Trans-Canada Highway all the way to Chilliwack. Take Exit #116 to merge onto Lickman Road, and then use the third exit at the roundabout to get onto Luckakuck Way. Lastly, take the first right turn to enter the village property.
Hours and Admission
Atchelitz is usually open about three or four days each week, although closed in January and December. In the spring last year the attraction was open on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Exact details, however, change depending on the season.
Admission to the museum is usually by donation. Other rooms and buildings can be rented out for various activities, such as picnics, meetings, gatherings, wedding shoots and more. A working kitchen is also on-site, which is a nice bonus for larger events.
