BEST Move: Where Bikes, Walks and Community Meet in Vancouver
BEST Move with RSVP Finish Line Party and Bike Pageant
BEST Move rolled back into Vancouver on Sunday, August 24th, 2025. The free, all-ages outdoor festival took place at David Lam Park from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Organizers will determine when the event happens in 2026.
Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist, an eco-conscious commuter, a family looking for a fun outing, or simply someone seeking a joyful way to spend a summer Sunday, BEST Move promises a vibrant mix of community energy, entertainment, and inspiration for a more sustainable lifestyle. Admission is free and all are welcome.
This past August, BEST teamed up with Cascade Bicycle Club, which is the largest cycling non-profit in the United States, to host a very special edition of the event. Organizers expected over 1,300 cyclists to cross the finish line after completing the legendary Seattle-to-Vancouver ride. This one-of-a-kind partnership ended the iconic ride at BEST Move, turning it into a true Finish Line Party you wouldn’t want to miss.
New in 2025, the Bike Pageant hosted by Vancouver Bike Network brought colour, creativity, and community flair to the celebration. Whether you ride a decorated cruiser, a custom cargo bike, or a cleverly-themed ride, the pageant is where bikes shine and personalities roll. With awards like Best in Show and People’s Choice, this event is a crowd favourite.

Tips and Advice
TIP #1: Consider embracing sustainable transportation year-round, not just for this event. It’s a great way to stay active, reduce your environmental impact, and build stronger connections within your community.
TIP #2: Be sure to visit the BEST booth at the event to support fundraising efforts, explore inspiring ideas, and learn how you can make a difference through everyday transportation choices. You can also visit BEST online to discover more about their ongoing work and impact.
TIP #3: Skip the car and make a day of it. Ride your bike, take transit or walk to BEST Move. Doing so is all part of the celebration and helps reduce emissions.
TIP #4: David Lam Park is just steps from the Yaletown–Roundhouse SkyTrain Station and right on the False Creek Seawall, which can make for a scenic and sustainable trip.
TIP #5: While you’re in the area, explore Yaletown’s vibrant cafés and restaurants, or stop by the Engine 374 Train Museum at the Roundhouse Community Centre. The museum is fun, free and family-friendly.
TIP #6: Plan for summer heat. August afternoons in Vancouver can be warm. If that’s the case the week of the event, take a reusable water bottle, wear sunscreen and don’t forget a hat or sunglasses for shade. There will be shaded areas and water refill stations on-site to help keep you cool and hydrated.

VANCOUVERSBESTPLACES.COM AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Did you know that Vancouver’s Best Places is a carbon-neutral organization? It’s actually the only tourism and events-focused media group in the Lower Mainland that is (or at least the only one we know of).
Vancouver’s Best Places is actually carbon positive, which means we more than offset our carbon footprint. We do that through Ostram Climate which is the same carbon offset company that Vancity, Harbour Air and other high-profile and highly-respected environmentally-responsible organizations use.
Vancouver’s Best Places also uses green energy via Bullfrog Power in our office, and for when we plug in our vehicle. We also use 100% recycled paper (which, unfortunately, is becoming increasingly hard to come by). Our main forms of transportation are via our SUV plugin hybrid and e-bikes (which we bought from Reckless Shipyards and OHM Bikes on the North Shore). We also walk a lot. We don’t claim to be perfect when it comes to the environment, but we try hard.
