Bike the Night Cycling Event
After a five-year hiatus, Bike the Night returned in 2024. It happens again in 2025, on Saturday, September 13th.
The event used to take place at Sunset Beach. Since last year, however, the night now begins at David Lam Park. The outdoor venue is also where the BEST Move + Ride Finish Line Party takes place in August.
At Bike the Night participants start gathering at about 5:00 pm. Celebrations in the area include live music, food trucks, games, tune-up stations and more. The bike rides then take place in two separate heats, with the first heat at 6:30 pm and the second heat at 8:30 pm.

About Bike the Night
Bike the Night is an annual event organized by HUB Cycling, a non-profit organization that seeks to improve cycling conditions in Metro Vancouver.
Participant Cost
Bike the Night is free to participate in. However, riders are encouraged to raise money in support of the event. For more details see the official Bike the Night page.

What’s Included with Registration?
Participants get access to the kick-off party where people listen to live music, check out bike displays, play games, decorate their own bikes and have their equipment tuned up.
All riders are entered to win a grand prize, which in 2025 is a $250 DoorDash gift card. Participants who raise any amount of money are entered to win select $50 DoorDash gift cards as well. Plus, people who raise $100 or more receive a free t-shirt. Other prizes are also available for folks who raise even more money.
Proceeds from the Bike the Night event benefit HUB Cycling, which is a great cause and valuable community organization.
Cycling Routes Past and Present
The same as last year, the party takes place at David Lam Park in 2025. That’s where the cycling starts and finishes too. This year’s route loops around the Seawall which is a popular route for both cyclists and pedestrians.
Up until 2019, Bike the Night used to start and end at Concord Pacific Place near False Creek in Vancouver. In 2019, however, it had a new base venue and a slightly (although not entirely) different route. The 2024 route was different once again.
Before 2019, the pre-party event took place at Concord Pacific Place which is located between BC Place Stadium and Science World at the eastern tip of False Creek. From there participants headed out on their bikes along Pacific Boulevard, through Chinatown, over the Burrard Street Bridge and along the southern side of False Creek before returning to Concord Pacific Place.
In 2019 Bike the Night began and finished at Sunset Beach which is located around the 1100 block of Beach Avenue (near the end of Bute and Thurlow).

Tips & Advice
Below are some suggestions to help you make the most of your Bike the Night experience.
TIP #1: Ride your bike to the event if you can. The False Creek Seawall is just steps from the start and finish, and it connects conveniently with so many other parts of town.
TIP #2: Go with a group of friends! The more the merrier!
TIP #3: If you hope to take advantage of the free bike tune-ups, arrive early and join the line-up right away. It’s a popular benefit and the line-up gets long.
TIP #4: 10 kms might seem like a long way if you’re not used to riding a bike, but it’s not really that far. Also, most participants roll along at a leisurely speed and there are virtually no hills. The route is ideal for novices, young families and people of all ages. It’s not challenging and it’s not a race! It’s just fun!
TIP #5: Feel free to dress up crazy and cover your bike with lights. You won’t be the only one!
TIP #6: Another leisurely cycling event you might be interested in is Bike the Blossoms which takes place in April. It’s one of a series of events during the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival.
