The Holiday Hive Market at the Met is a new, outdoor Christmas market with artisan vendors and live entertainment at Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby.
Last year the market took place on the weekend of December 6th and 7th. It’s part of the Santa Experience & Holiday Shopping Season series of events at Metropolis at the Met. A Dance Party and Holiday Toy Drive also took place on the first day of the Holiday Hive Market, on December 6th. Other events in the series throughout the holiday season at the mall include Photos with Santa and the Charity Gift Wrap, plus Photos with Tropical Santa which happens for a few days after Christmas.
Keep reading or visit the Metropolis at the Met website or artisanmarkets.ca website for more information about the market.
Holiday Hive Market at the Met
Hosted by the Artisan Market Society, the Holiday Hive Market at the Met takes place on a Saturday and Sunday in early December. Last year it ran from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm both days. Admission to the event is free. The Holiday Hive Market takes place outdoors in the South Plaza by the Dolphin Pond. It features market vendors and live entertainment.
The Holiday Hive Market runs during the Santa Experience & Holiday Shopping Season at Metrotown. This longer event runs from around mid-November until the end of December.
Note: The Artisan Farmers Market Society also runs the Burnaby Artisan Farmers Market, which, unfortunately, isn’t happening in 2026, as well as a couple of other markets in the spring, summer and fall.

Other Things to Do at the Met
Some other things to consider doing while at the Holiday Hive Market include going to the Holiday Dance Party and contributing to the Holiday Toy Drive at the mall. The dance party happened from noon until 2:00 pm and the toy drive ran from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm. Of course, Metropolis at Metrotown is also one of the best places for shopping in Canada.
