Chor Leoni’s Choir Concerts in 2025
Chor Leoni was founded in 1992 by Diane Loomer, a choral instructor who later received the Order of Canada. In the decades since, Chor Leoni has won numerous accolades including the Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence in 2019. That award is one of the highest honours such a choir can receive!
The exact number of singers changes depending on the season, but there can be upwards of around 60 vocalists or more, mostly male. The choir entertains thousands of audience members over the course of each season.

Popcappella Concerts
Chor Leoni usually sing primarily classical music. In the spring, however, they usually have special performances featuring a blend of choral and pop music. This past year the concert was actually Popcappella 3D and admission included a complimentary pair of 3D glasses which were fun to use during some of the songs where the screen behind the choir had 3D special effects. It was very cool, and trippy! Details on the last half of 2025 are to be announced.
Songs they performed at the Popcappella 3D concerts in 2025 included the following (most of which are hits you’ll probably recognize):
- Ahead by a Century (by The Tragically Hip)
- At Last (by Etta James)Hallelujah (by Leonard Cohen)
- Constant Craving (by KD Lang)
- Hyperballad (by Björk)
- In Your Eyes (by Peter Gabriel)
- My Girls (by Animal Collective)
- September (by Earth, Wind and Fire)
