Chor Leoni Choir

Chor Leoni is an award-winning Vancouver-based choir that performs concerts at venues like St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church and UBC’s Chan Centre.

The 2025/2026 season started in November last year and continues until May this year. There are four different events this season. Concerts in the spring of 2026 are PopCappella (on March 6th and 7th at St. Andrew’s-Wesley in downtown Vancouver) and The Big Roar (on May 8th and 9th at the Chan Centre at UBC).

Chor Leoni’s Choir Concerts

Chor Leoni was founded in 1992 by Diane Loomer, a choral instructor who later received the Order of Canada. In the decades since, Chor Leoni has won numerous accolades including the Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence in 2019. That award is one of the highest honours such a choir can receive.

The exact number of singers changes depending on the season, but there can be upwards of around 60 vocalists or more, mostly male. The choir entertains thousands of audience members over the course of each season.

2025/2026 Season Concerts

Chor Leoni’s in-person concert schedule started in November last year and runs until May or June each year.

Below is the schedule for this season in the last half of 2025 and the first half of 2026. The concerts take place at a variety of venues around Vancouver.

Remembrance Day Concert – a special choral tribute on November 11th, 2025. The concert took place at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United in Vancouver.
Christmas with Chor Leoni – a festive series of holiday concerts that happened on December 18th, 19th and 20th, 2025. The shows happened at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United.
PopCappella – another series of concerts spread across the Friday to Saturday of March 6th and 7th, 2026. The choir tackles famous pop songs while using special lighting and film projection effects to create a more immersive experience. The event happens at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United.
The Big Roar – a massive co-operative night of music featuring Chor Leoni, MYVoice, the Emerging Choral Artist Program, and more. Over 250 singers take part in this performance on May 8th and 9th, 2026. The event happens at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.

PopCappella Concerts

Chor Leoni usually sing primarily classical music. In the spring, however, the choir has special performances featuring a blend of choral and pop music.
