  • Friday, October 19th, 2018We are Singers/We are Song concert at Pacific Spirit United Church (formerly Ryerson United) at 2195 West 45th Avenue in Vancouver. The annual FOCUS! event includes performances by the Capilano University Singers and Trinity Western University’s Chamber Choir.
  • Friday, November 9th, 2018For Love is Strong concert featuring conductor-singer-composer Kathleen Allan at Pacific Spirit United Church (formerly Ryerson United) at 2195 West 45th Avenue in Vancouver.
  • Friday, December 7th, 2018Handel’s Messiah concert with conductor Jon Washburn at the Orpheum Theatre at 601 Smithe Street in Vancouver. The concert includes performances by the Vancouver Chamber Choir, Pacifica Singers, Vancouver Chamber Orchestra and a number of Canadian soloists.

  • Friday, April 19th, 2019Music for a Very Good Friday concert featuring the works of Bach, O’Regan and Vaughan Williams at the Orpheum Theatre at 601 Smithe Street in Vancouver.
  • Friday, May 10th, 2019Youth & Music 2019: Music’s Future at Shaughnessy Heights United Church at 1550 West 33rd Avenue in Vancouver. The concert features finalists from the choir’s 14th Young Composers’ Competition.

About the Vancouver Chamber Choir

Formed in 1971 by present conductor Jon Washburn, the Vancouver Chamber Choir has performed thousands of concerts across Canada as well as in over 16 countries around the world.

There are two affiliated choirs. One is the Pacifica Singers, which is a select vocal ensemble that performs four or so times each season with the Vancouver Chamber Choir, as well as once or twice on its own.

The second affiliated choir is the Vancouver Youth Choir which was founded in 2013 and includes three different groups comprising well over 100 child and youth singers.

The mandate of the Vancouver Chamber Choir is “to facilitate music-making of the highest caliber and commitment.” Their mission is to “make choral music of fully professional character and quality; … to foster appreciation of choral music among the public; … [and] to contribute significantly to [their} local, national and international choral communities ….”
