Candlelight Concerts is a series of classical music performances lit up by hundreds of candles. The events take place at a couple of churches in Vancouver.

Candlelight Concerts in Vancouver
The Candlelight Concert series began in 2020. Since then it has grown into a global phenomenon with thousands of events held around the world. The aim of Candlelight is to present classical music in a new way and attract those who might not regularly go to such concerts.
The events attract new audiences to classical music with Candlelight’s unique ambiance. For each of its shows the venue’s interior lighting is very dim, or even turned off entirely. What provides the light during the events are candles. Hundreds of them line the stage and the audience section. For the safety of everyone involved, the candles are flameless.
Some of the shows feature the works of the most famous classical composers. Others take on the catalogues of modern-day pop and rock artists, or the soundtracks to famous movies and TV shows. Upcoming Candlelight concerts in Vancouver are listed further below in this article.
Admission Details
Tickets for the Candlelight concerts begin at around $45 and range up to about $75 depending on the section of the venue you select. The seats are first-come, first-served within each section. All tickets must be purchased online in advance, as there are none sold at the door.
Organizers ask everyone to arrive 30 minutes before each concert begins. After the performances start, latecomers are not permitted. Make sure that you’re on time!

2025 Schedule
There are over a dozen different Candlelight shows taking place from April to June in 2025. Some of them run on multiple dates.
The two Vancouver venues for this season are Christ Church Cathedral (at 690 Burrard Street) and Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church (at 2733 West 41st Avenue).

April 26th, 2025
- A Tribute to ABBA – a concert featuring the best of the Swedish pop group at Christ Church Cathedral at 6:45 pm.
- A Tribute to Coldplay – the greatest hits by the British rock band at Christ Church Cathedral at 8:45 pm.
May 2nd, 2025
- Best of Joe Hisaishi – the best hits by one of the foremost anime composers at Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church at 6:45 pm and 8:45 pm.

May 17th, 2025
- Best of Hans Zimmer – fantastic scores from movies like Inception and Interstellar are played at Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church at 6:45 pm.
- Best of Metal on Strings – songs by AC/DC, Metallica, Black Sabbath and other bands at 8:45 pm at Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church.
May 23rd, 2025

- Rings and Dragons – music from The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones performed live at 8:45 pm at Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church.
June 14th, 2025
- Best of Joe Hisaishi – the greatest hits of one of the foremost anime composers at Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church at 6:45 pm.
- Tribute to Queen and The Beatles – hits by both bands performed live by the Listeso String Quartet at 8:45 pm at Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church.
