What the Frock Productions produces a wide variety of shows. Some are family-friendly and others are for adults only. The company puts on multiple performances every month. You can also hire them for your own private event. They also offer drag makeup workshops.

 

Upcoming Drag Shows & Other Events

Below are some of the events put on by What the Frock Productions in 2025. The shows feature drag queens, drag kings and drag things.

(Note: The performances take place at various venues. With the ones at the Legion on Commercial Drive, interestingly, you can bring in outside food, but not drinks. Beverages you have to buy at the bar. Also, first shows at the Legion usually start at 8:00 pm and finish at around 9.30. The second performance on the same night at the Legion typically runs from around 10:00 pm until closing, which is around 11:30 or midnight. The times do vary a bit, though, based on audience attendance, the numbers of performers, and other factors.)

Demons Cabaret – Naturally Freaky

(Friday, June 13th, 2025, at Hotel at The Waldorf)

There are limited tickets available for this night of entertainment that’s held in The Hideaway below The Waldorf at 1489 East Hastings Street. General admission is $20.

October might still be a while away, but the performers at Demons Cabaret are certainly spooky and there is plenty of chaos and fun to be had. Over a dozen drag performers will be on hand at the event that runs from 8:00 to 10:00 pm.

Bacon & L’eggs Drag Brunch

(Sunday, June 15th, 2025, at the Howe Sound Taphouse & Kitchen)

On Father’s Day in 2025, there’s a special brunch event hosted by What the Frock Productions. It takes place on June 15th at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm at the Howe Sound Taphouse. It’s an event full of tasty food and drag performances. The family-friendly brunch has a time travelling theme and costumes are encouraged.

Contagious Comedy & Pop Rocks

(Friday, June 20th, 2025, at Original Joe’s)

The night of entertainment at Original Joe’s kicks off with Contagious Comedy. Hosted by Ben Anna Split, this opening act is a hilarious way to begin the night. The show runs from 7:00 to 8:00 pm and costs about $10 to attend.

Then, described as “a crazy drag show hosted by crazy people”, Pop Rocks takes place from 8:00 to 10:00 pm at the same location. Tickets cost $20 and the event features plenty of music and comedy hosted by Burna Dart and Janet Jacksoff.

Pride of Life – Recognizing Indigenous Day

(Saturday, June 21st, 2025, at the Howe Sound Taphouse & Kitchen)

The Pride of Life is a celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day. It takes place from 8:00 to 10:00 pm at the Howe Sound Taphouse, located at 1489 East Hastings Street. The event is about honouring Indigenous culture. There are speeches, performances, food and more.

The Queer Beaver – The New Lesbian Lounge

(Friday, June 27th, 2025, at the Howe Sound Taphouse & Kitchen)

What the Frock Productions hosts The Queer Beaver event at the Howe Sound Taphouse. The venue is located at 1489 East Hastings Street and the event takes place from 6:00 to 9:30 pm on June 27th.

The Queer Beaver is a night of drinks and inclusive socializing. It isn’t a drag show. Instead, it’s a chance to connect with other people in the LGBTQ+ community. Although the event is predominantly for women and non-binary individuals, everyone is welcome.

Drag Across The Pond – BRITPOP vs Celtic Bops

(Friday, July 25th, 2025, at Original Joe’s)

This event is a music showdown. Drag stars perform hits from the featured two countries and the audience helps decide on a winner. The event is held at Original Joe’s from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Tickets cost about $20 each.

Hi Pride at Hostelling International

 

Drag Show Event with Hostelling International

(Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, at HI Vancouver Downtown)

What the Frock Productions also hosts a special event in cooperation with Hostelling International during the Vancouver Pride Festival. The event takes place at the HI Vancouver Downtown location at 1114 Burnaby Street. It starts at 2:00 pm, which is soon after the Vancouver Pride Parade finishes.

The event begins with a drag show which is followed by a dance party that continues into the night. Admission costs just $35. Other details about this event are to be confirmed as of early May. See the What the Frock Productions website for information closer to the time.
