The Nights of Light is a new event featuring music and light displays at Queen Elizabeth Park during the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival in April.
The inaugural Nights of Light event was cancelled. As a result it did not take place on April 12th in 2019 as originally planned. It does not appear to be happening in 2020 either.

Nights of Light at Queen Elizabeth Park
In 2019 the Nights of Light event was going to make its debut on Friday, April 12th, at Queen Elizabeth Park. The entrance to the venue was at Cambie Street and 33rd Avenue. It was going to be a free event and run from dusk until 10:00 pm weather permitting.
Nights of Light was going to be a new event for the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, although there were similarities between it and the Spring Lights Illumination Night which had taken place at the same venue over the previous number of years. Both events were to be free and feature live music, cherry blossoms and cool light illuminations.
Background to the Event
Every year the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF) hosts a number of events including a free one at Queen Elizabeth Park. There used to be the Sakura Illuminations Night, which was later renamed Spring Lights Illumination Night. Both took place at the park in mid-April.
In 2019 the plan was to move the Spring Lights Illumination Night event to Stanley Park. For various reasons, however, that turned out not to be possible. VCBF hoped to hold the event once again in 2020, at its new venue, but, for 2019, the Spring Lights Illumination Night was cancelled and it doesn’t appear to have been scheduled for 2020 either. In its place was going to be the new Nights of Light event, but now that too has been cancelled.
