
Public Disco is a non-profit that hosts pop-up style events in Metro Vancouver. It hosts one, for example, in June on Granville Island.
Some of the events are free and some are ticketed. In 2026 the first Public Disco event took place in early April. On June 5th and 6th is the Granville Island Block Party at Lot 55. Later in the summer there are events outside the Vancouver Art Gallery and the City Centre Artist Lodge. There’s also a Pride Block Party in August.

Public Disco Events in Vancouver
The Public Disco Society works to bring Metro Vancouver communities together through music. The non-profit organization hosts various disco-style events each year. Some are free for all ages to attend, while others are ticketed and for adults only. The events feature DJs and artists, as well as inclusive and welcoming environments. In some cases, there are also market vendors, pop-up bars and food trucks.
In 2026 the Public Disco Society hosted one event in April. It has four pop-up events during its Summer Series too. Continue reading below for details about all of this year’s events.
Blossom Block Party
Presented by both the Public Disco Society and the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, the Blossom Block Party was a one-day event on April 4th, 2026. It ran from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Bentall Centre at 1055 Dunsmuir Street.
Admission to the event was by donation. It was a celebration of the beginning of spring with music, dancing, activities for kids and more. Food trucks were on-site and there was a bar with alcoholic beverages for adults. The entertainment lineup in 2026 featured Sakiko Nagai, Kozue, Niña Mendoza and Beiti.

Granville Island Block Party
Public Disco’s 2026 Summer Series kicks off with a free event on the Friday and Saturday of June 4th and 5th. The Granville Island Block Party takes place at Lot 55 on Granville Island. The outdoor venue is behind the Granville Island Brewing building at 1411 Cartwright Street. The festivities run from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the Friday and 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the Saturday.
This year the event features music curated by Brendocha on the first day. Expect to hear Latin club sounds, salsa, guaracha and more. The second day’s lineup is curated 2flowers and includes house and disco music. There are also
Although the Granville Island Block Party is open to all ages, it’s a fully licensed event. There’s lots of drinking, dancing and socializing. A small food market with local vendors and food trucks is on-site throughout the event. There are also special activities for children to enjoy.
Public Disco at City Centre Artist Lodge
The first ticketed event in the Summer Series is a party on July 18th, 2026. It happens at City Centre Artist Lodge, located at 2111 Main Street in Vancouver.
Headliners of the pop-up event are Musclecars and DJ Heather, both from the US. Also performing are Luke McKeehan and Lerma. The event runs from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
Ticket prices range from about $28 to $56 per person. The event is only for ages 19 and above.

Pride Block Party
The Pride Block Party is the other ticketed event in Public Disco’s 2026 Summer Series. It runs from 4:00 pm to 11:30 pm on August 1st. The event happens at West 3rd Avenue and Ontario Street. It’s in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood just a few blocks south of Science World.
The Pride celebration is for adults only. It includes queer dance music from a lineup curated by Jesse Walker and DJ dood. This year’s event features two stages. Performers include Coloured Craig, CarrieOnDisco, Fisher Bryce and others.
Tickets to the 2026 Pride Block Party cost between about $24 and $54 each.
Downtown Block Party
Last but not least, the Downtown Block Party takes place on August 29th, 2026, at the Vancouver Art Gallery’s North Plaza at 750 Hornby Street in Vancouver. The event begins at 2:00 pm and finishes at 10:00 pm. It’s free to attend.
The final event of this year’s Summer Series features a music lineup curated by DJ Dairy Free. Similar to the Granville Island Block Party in June, there are market and food vendors, kids activities, a record sale and more. The event is a fun place to be for those of all ages.
